Comedy Central this morning released the first promo for its upcoming Roast of Charlie Sheen. Called Dr. StrangeSheen, it features the former Two and a Half Men star re-enacting a scene from Dr. Strangelove. The roast premieres Sept. 19, the same night CBS debuts Two and a Half Men with Ashton Kutcher as its new leading man.

Wow…that’s exciting and original…NOT. I guess they are saving the best for last….NOT.
Leave it to a guy who still uses “Not” to judge funny.
I would hope they get rid if Jeff Ross the guy is an idiot you think a channel named Comedy Central could get real comedians and stars for these roasts. Look at the old roasts the had A listers not Z listers.
Borat came out almost five years ago.
I hope it’s funny, but I already know it’s going to be a little less funny because Greg Giraldo will not be there.
Still bummed.
Yeah, man, I really miss Greg Giraldo, too.
Self-destruction and drug addiction is hilarious!
well Tom you can always watching Two and a Half Men you know..
Looking forward to watch this roast, i hope the comedians will be good and not so obvious..we will see, i am curious..and after that i am looking forward to watch his new show (hop it will be on a good channel)
There’s 15 seconds of my life I’ll never get back.
Despite his recent public statements, the fact that they are killing off his character is just eating away at him…. If recent roasts are any indication this will be a total stinker. The commercials for the “Dean Martin Comedy Roasts” DVDs are more humorous than these recent off-color incarnations.
Have you ever seen or heard a tape from one of the “real” roasts in the 60s? Many are far filthier than even the uncensored CC versions. Milton Berle and Pat Buttram (Mr. Haney, Green Acres), in particular, were astonishingly foul – and funny as hell.
Sometimes I really miss Red Buttons. Probably that night will be one of those times.
Here ya go, Charlie, steal from Lucy for your last line of the night –”Some people go their entire lives and never have an evening like tonight. . . they’re the lucky ones!”
And you know that how ?
Hey Tom,
did you just say “Original” and “…NOT” in the same sentence?
Tom – the adding of NOT is unoriginal and boring. Stop commenting please.
To all commenting on the use of the word NOT…I guess you all forgot the Winning… Not Winning in many, many pervious posts about Charlie Sheen from lots of people.
However, when it comes to Charlie Sheen…I promise this is the last post I will submit… it just isn’t funny anymore.
good decision : go away Tom, you will not be missed.
Bue bye.
I’ll definitely be watching this instead of the 2.5 Men premiere.
me too
Isn’t this a little bit like bear-bating?
That was incredibly sad and he seemed so disingenuous.
This just all seems sad and pathetic. Those roasts are pathetic actually. I’m just glad I am not any of those people. Desperate for attention losers.
yeah because nobody cares about you, it eats you alive actually but sorry you will never have your 15 seconds, hey yeah life can be unfair sometimes…Happy life to you and your bitterness Henry.
Spoken like a true bitter loser. I can confidently say that I do not need my 15 seconds. I have friends, a ton of them, I don’t need america to embrace me with 15 seconds. I’m not bitter at all anonymous – I just wish some of these TV personalities would go away. This is Spencer Pratt territory. You must be proud to defend it….good on ya.
Hey Henry … when you announce to people that you have “friends, a ton of them”, it’s a lot like saying you have no friends at all. On the positive side, those who actually believe you, can now rejoice in that you are so liked.
hey Henry you are certainly a Spencer Pratt fanboy in the closet..we recognized you guy..and trying to trash Charlie Sheen (a famous actor for more than two decades) by comparing him with this Spencer Pratt real tv boy..ah ha nice try again..but no we are convinced sorry..
I cannot wait for this.
This is gonna be the best and funniest roast ever. I already got the DVR set. Bring it on!
Can’t wait to see the ROAST !!!! Still love Charlie, sorry Ashton.
I don’t get the hate. This was actually a really funny & clever promo & Charlie looks like he had a lot of fun making it, & it was a nice homage to “Dr. Strangelove”! Good for you Charlie!
because lot’s of people are hateful in order to fill the emptiness of their boring lives…Sad but true.
I love the Dr Strangelove association, Charlie Sheen always good sport, like it i will watch.
Would rather watch a 15 minute Dean Martin Roast infomertial for the 16th time.
Then: Sinatra, Stewart, Lucy
Now: Carrot Top, Gene Simmons, Lisa Lumpycanoli
I don’t know why so many people hate Charlie or look down on him. At least he’s honest about the way he lives his life and doesn’t try to hide behind anything. Do you honestly believe he’s the only one in Hollywood who has done drugs or been with prostitutes. I think he’s a stand up kind of guy. Remember the whole Heidi Fleiss thing. He did not give one person’s name up. Who are we do judge him when known of us are perfect. Everyone makes mistakes in their lives and hopefully we learn from them and go on. When he’s ready to admit he has problems and needs to do something about them he will if not for himself, but for his kids.
As far as Two and a Half Men, I think people will turn into the first couple of episodes to see what’s going on and then they will stop. I think they should reconsider killing him off and just have him go away with Rose so that way when the ratings fall and they realize they can’t do the show without him they can bring him back.
To be perfectly honest, I hold little hope for the roast itself, but on the playing field of snappy TV promo spots, that vivid Dr. Strangelove riff was refreshingly good and smart–and so it seems to me that for people to assert otherwise suggests they’re a little too caught up in their own agenda.
