After a string of short teasers, FX just released a 30-second trailer for Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s spooky new drama series American Horror Story, which stars Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and Jessica Lange. Described as a psychosexual thriller, it centers on a therapist (McDermott) and his wife (Britton) who, dealing with the aftermath of the husband’s adultery, move along with their kids into a new house that seems to know all about their fears and plays on them. The series premieres Oct. 5.

Out of curiosity why would you not watch any of R.M.’s work?
Maybe because his shows always starts off great, then rapidly devolve into stinking messes?
Or maybe because Ryan Murphy seems like an unpleasant person.
Or maybe because she just doesn’t like to read his name anywhere.
This teaser didn’t do much for me although I’m still excited about the show.
There was a 10 second teaser clip for American Horror Story shown a few weeks ago which featured some haunting music and a female stomach played as a violin. Although that revealed nothing about the show, I have to admit that that clip grabbed my attention.

I thought that said Dylan McDermott and Conan O’Brien.
The Conan O’Brien variation seems like it would be a more interesting psychosexual thriller than what they’ve got.
Yes, but the Conan O’Brien variation would get the usual raves from his cult, and his usual low ratings. Then he’d whine to the press and try to find some way to blame Leno for the show’s failure.
Couldn’t really tell what it was they were asking me to watch, but loved the tone!
Sure hope it’s scarier than the trailer would suggest. Feels like The Shining meets a Calvin Klein Obsession commercial.
This show looks like it will be the horror Twin Peaks.

I’m so excited to have Connie back on television so soon after Friday Night Lights, she’s brilliant.

Is this going to be a show where the plot-line runs throughout the whole season (a la “The Killing”) or one where each episode sort of stands on its own (a la “Law and Order)?

The girl with down’s syndrome is one of my students at The Born To Act Players, which is a theatre group for special needs kids and adults. I’m so very proud of her.

Sorry, but based on this, it’s just a rip-off of Twin Peaks. Plus I agree with the others here who said it looks like one of those Ridley Scott perfume commercials from the 90′s.

Looks to have an interesting style…and love the last shot of family..ala “ADAMS FAMILY”..but real..and Jamie Brewer who plays Jessica’s daughter is in a wonderful group called “Born To Act Players” and she is a joy to watch!!!!!!!!!!! good luck to all!!!
Sheesh, folks complain about the fact there’s no originality in TV any more, yet when something different comes along, they knock it down before they’ve even seen it. The show has a wonderful cast and terrific writers, including Tim Minear and James Wong. That’s good enough for me to tune in.
Sexy-ass Connie Britton. ‘Nuff said. Minear and Wong are on the writing crew, too? Maybe people will actually watch this show as opposed to Friday Night Lights. I’m in.

i dnt like glee or nip/tuck but after watching all the clues on youtube and reading what the show is about it seem pretty interesting and I hope its scarier then the commercals make it seem even though theres only 13 episodes
