Regal Entertainment is partnering with Hannover House and Patriot Pictures to exclusively screen the Christina Ricci comedy All’s Faire In Love. Hannover plans a full marketing push for the release, which is set for Friday, October 28; tickets go on sale October 14. The film, set in the world of Renaissance fairs, centers on the fight for the fair’s top Shakespearean stage between Ricci’s acting troupe and a devious rival actor’s gang. Owen Benjamin, Cedric the Entertainer and Chris Wylde co-star in the movie, which made the festival-circuit rounds in 2009 after showing in the Cannes market that year.

Exclusive with Regal is a smart move. They have more locations and more marketing power than any other circuit. In the current market, overflowing with competitive releases, an alignment with the top theatre chain is just what this film (and Hanover House) needs to succeed.
In the know: do you have any facts to your allegations that you will post about Hanover House? Actual real documented facts with links or you just bitter about something in life? Its going to be a great movie, released by two great companies, enjoy life a little!
Hey In the Know Know:
You should know this, here is just one the facts you so preciously want to see of how Hannover House rips off producers:
Fantastic Films Wins $340,000 Judgment Against Hannover House
May 12, 2011 – Los Angeles based Fantastic Films won an IFTA arbitration award and a court judgment totaling over $340,000 against Hannover House (Truman Press Inc. d.b.a Hannover House), Target Development Group Inc. and Empire Film Group Inc. for failing to distribute the film “Thru The Moebius Strip” in the United States and for failing to pay a six figure Minimum Guarantee.
Lincoln Bandlow of Lathrop & Gage LLP, counsel for Fantastic Films said that the Arbitrator’s award and judgment was entered only after the Arbitrator had offered the principals of defendant Hannover House, Eric Parkinson and Fred Shefte, an opportunity to cure their breach of contract and proceed with the distribution of the film provided that certain conditions were met (which included paying the outstanding Minimum Guarantee and extending the film release window for Hannover), but Mr. Parkinson and Mr. Shefte did not comply with the Arbitrator’s requirements resulting in the award to Fantastic Films.
“The IFTA Arbitrator found that it was undisputed that the defendants, particularly Hannover House, had repeatedly breached their contractual obligations and, indeed, the Arbitrator witnessed yet another breach firsthand by watching Hannover break a promise made at the arbitration to finally comply with the contract,.” said Bandlow. “Although Fantastic Films is disappointed in Hannover’s failure to release this film in the US, my clients are happy that the Arbitrator and the Court have held defendants responsible for their improper conduct. We are pursuing every avenue to collect this award, including seeking to have defendants barred from participating in future film markets and we will continue to take any and all necessary steps until the Judgment is satisfied.”
If you were truly “in the know” you would know that there is a motion to dismiss the Fantastic Films matter due to their non-delivery of the movie to Hannover House. The only party “ripped off” was Hannover House who licensed the film, never received delivery, then got called into Arbitration for refusing to pay the advance until delivery occured. Never in the history of the American Film Marketing Association has a “seller” won in such a circumstance of non-delivery.
How is this not illegal?
One of the WORST movies I have ever seen. NOT funny.
Curious “Paul”, where and when did you see the film? The exit polls from festival screenings tracked at 85% or higher on audience approval.
I guess they’re hoping to ride the coat tail of PanAm?
This movie is really, really, really, really, really bad, and does not deserve to be seen in theaters.
Well apparently the largest theater owner in the country thinks it should be shown in theaters. And, in fact bought the exclusive rights to it! They got to be worth $2 Billion somehow…… they must know why they’re doing dontch’ya think?.
Funny how the bashers pile on….. like ‘cock’roaches. Funny!
I actually really like this movie. I wrote all the other bad reviews about this, and now I’m taking it back. I’m sorry. Please don’t hate me, I want to be loved by all.
In the Know,
That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Not only do you make a libelous statement about Eric Parkinson, (the former CEO of Hemdale Communications) without any evidence provided. You make a ridiculous remark about Regal needs to get their money up front.
Uh you do realize that theaters get their money first right? They are the organizations that collect the money up front, and pay the distributors their cut. Seriously? Do you have a clue of what you are talking about?
I liked this movie. I saw this movie on the festival circuit and thought it was funny. You all need to lighten up.
They should put this movie right to dvd. It is unbelievable that a almost 3 year old movie would be put into theaters.
Looks like Eric Parkinson the head of Hannover House was head of Hemdale starting in 1991 and Hemdale shut their doors in 1995. That is not a ringing endorsement.
This movie will NOT bring people to the theater!
First of all many successful movies have stayed in the can for years before being released (one example: Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure). Second of all the timing seems fitting; Ricci’s Pan Am success, people dressing up in silly costumes (Halloween… usually only horror is released during this time), nothing else out there like this. Finally, I myself am excited to see this film! It reminds me a little of Princess Bride meets Role Models. Ren Faires are bizarre places and ripe for satire! Ricci looks cute and I have always been a Chris Wylde fan. I will be there.
Chris Wylde rules! Four times the steeeeeeak!!! I’m going to see this movie four times
Alan I’ve always loved that funny funny guy Chris Wylde. I will see it four times too!
To anyone reading this message board, please note that all of the people pumping this film are likely investors of a stock with the ticker symbol TDGI. The company, Hannover House, has produced failure after failure in terms of movies. The investors are simply lauding the film due to their own greed. It’s amazing the level that some people stoop to.
Listen to those who have actually seen the film: It’s awful.
