EXCLUSIVE: Army Wives star Sally Pressman is moving on from the Lifetime drama series after its upcoming sixth season. Pressman has signed a talent holding deal with NBC. Under the pact, the broadcast network will cast the actress in a project it has in development for next fall or have her join an on-air series. Like the rest of the Army Wives cast, Pressman is set to return to the set of the series next month to begin filming the sixth season. But the lead actresses have no deals beyond Season 6, and there have not been any overtures yet from the network or producing studio ABC Studios, making the women available to take other series regular jobs. Fellow Army Wives star Catherine Bell last month signed on to headline the TNT movie Good Morning, Killer which is being eyed as potential backdoor pilot, so Bell has a series option behind it while also exploring possibilities on the broadcast side, where she made her mark as the star of CBS’ JAG. Lifetime has not announced its plans for Army Wives beyond Season 6. Given the soft showing of the network’s new scripted series, leaving Army Wives and Drop Dead Diva as Lifetime’s strongest dramas, the net might try to extend Army Wives‘ run for another season with generous offers to the actresses. However, given that Lifetime went through lengthy and difficult license fee negotiations with ABC Studios the last couple of times as the series is getting more expensive and that cast members have no deals and are free to explore other opportunities, bringing the show back with its entire core cast intact might be difficult. (Also complicating things is the bizarre recent behavior by star Kim Delaney.) As for a spinoff, the network tried that once in the past, and it didn’t work. In addition to playing the feisty Roxy LeBlanc on Army Wives, Pressman, repped by UTA and Principal Entertainment, has done guest spots on CBS’ The New Adventures of Old Christine and Criminal Minds and ABC’s upcoming comedy Man Up!.

Lifetime: “We don’t have deals with these people? Did you know this was happening?”
So change the cast and keep the show going. That’s what happens on real Army posts. No biggie. The show’s too good to lose.

Please dont take Army Wives off the air. Its the only show that i really watch and make sure i tape if i cant watch that night.
I pray you dont end AW. I love this series. I have been watching from the first episode and now that its getting really good you want to cut us off. I love all the original cast but introducing new characters such as Gloria while the old cast is in play is helping to keep my focus on the show. Please dont end the show.
Why do networks get rid of good shows and continually show so much trash. Please find a way to keep this show goingthe writers are awesome when cast members leave replace them just like on a real base, real life. There’s a lot of talented ex soap opera stars looking for work not to mention many talented actors & actresses looking for work. Do not end this show because actors ate moving on with their careers.
Army wives is by far one of the best shows on TV. Please don’t cancel this show. If you lose some of the stars bring in new ones even though not having a Roxy , or a Dee there would be difficult. If those are my options I say leave this fantastic show on and get new actors.
Please keep AW going, even if you choose new wives. The show is great, and has a lot of good meaning.
Kim seemed under the influence of something. Hopefully this is the one and only time she’s been like this. Maybe she took something before appearing and it reacted weird. I hope she’s okay.
Please don’t get rid of Army Wives, it’s one of the few shows my husband and I watch. We have watched it from the very beginning. The cast is absolutely perfect, please save the show.
I absoulutly LOVE Army Wives so plz don’t end it!!
I love this show. Have not missed a day of it. Hope it keeps on keeping on!! Bought every eason on DVD also. Do not cancell this show. Please.
I really hope AW stays around. I’m hooked and so is my husband. I love the entire cast, but Roxy is my favorite…..
I an older viewer and find it difficult to find anything
as uplifting and enjoyable to watch as this series.
Please bring it back for at least a 7th season or longer.
I will miss u roxxy ur the best. I jus don”t understand why the show can”t go on
I have been a faithful watcher of Army Wives. I hope the series continues. But I can understand a need for a change up with the characters. After all it is suppose to be army life.
Army Wives is simply one of the best shows on tv right now. I’ve watched it since the beginning, and would hate to see it cancelled. The actors are all outstanding! The story lines are always gripping!
A great show. Why would you even contemplate not having a 7th season? Finally, there is a decent series and it has NOT run its course.
I look forward to Army Wives every week and dread each year when the season gets near the end of it’s run. My husband is retired Air Force and was stationed in Charleston for most of his career. My daughter and son still live in Charleston, and are also big fans. It would be a great loss if you decide to cancel the series. There have been so many stories that depict real life events. Catherine Bell and all of the army wives cast do such a great job. We are going to miss Sally, but PLEASE do not cancel this show. There are so many more story lines that need to be told and there aren’t enough shows like this that give people a glimpse into the lives of our brave military and their families. Army Wives needs to continue. There is so much more to tell.
Love the show it is clever and fun, good morals and lessons and realistic! Don’t cancel it!!
And why has Claudia Joy been out so long?
I’ve read every comment and request to keep the show alive. Of course I agree–but I haven’t seen a mention of this one important fact: it’s a program that provides a venue for more than one older (past her 30′s ) actress on a show at the same time. I was injured a few years ago and down for the count for several years after. The highlight of my week was always Army Wives. Still is. How can you even think about shelving the highest rated program on your network? I’ve read that Lifetime is going “soft.” Well, ditching Army Wives is akin to shooting yourself in the foot.
