EXCLUSIVE: Days after closing a deal for The Expendables 2, Arnold Schwarzenegger is in talks to star in Captive, an action thriller that is out to directors with the intention of shooting next year. Emmett/Furla Films is financing the picture, and Randall Emmett and George Furla are producing with Groundswell’s Michael London. Benjamin van der Veen and Kario Salem wrote the script from a story by Nicolai Fuglsig. Fuglsig was originally going to direct but stepped out, and he will be exec producer with Eva Maria Daniels. Schwarzenegger is in early talks to play an American real estate magnate living in Brazil who is kidnapped and held for ransom. As he frantically searches for a way out of his armored-truck prison cell hidden in a Sao Paolo landfill, a detective specializing in kidnap and ransom cases works to find him. Emmett/Furla earlier today announced a $250 million film fund with cash coming from Envision Entertainment. Schwarzenegger is starring in the Kim Jee-Woon-directed action film Last Stand, his first major film job after leaving as California governor and weathering a subsequent paternity scandal. Schwarzenegger is repped by CAA.

Is Arnold intentionally choosing second rate action movies that are barely action movies like Collateral Damage and The Sixth Day.
This new movie is hardly the bad@ss action movies he made like Predator, Total Recall and Conan.
“Captive” sounds like a boring tv movie of the week and so does Last Stand.
He’s intentionally signing up for flicks that no real action or Arnold fan would see. The only awesome movie he’s currently on is Expendables 2 and I hope he gets plenty of screen time because it’s the only new Arnold movie that is going to be the same awesome genre of his past hits.
Oh, and if Stallone looks bigger and in better shape than Arnold in part two than I’m going to laugh and walk out of the theater.
Um. Arnold is old as dirt. He can’t do what he used to do. Just as Harrison Ford, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis can’t anymore either.
Watching Harrison in the last Indiana Jones was particularly embarrassing.
The actors who could pull off a Gran Torino are rare indeed. Connery, Hackman & going back in the time machine Cary Grant git while the gittin was good.

I don’t know, I wouldn’t call Harrison’s involvement with Indiana Jones 4 an embarrassment for him.
The cinematic icon did walk away with a $65 million dollar paycheck for that film. And it grossed over a Billion USD with worldwide box office, DVD/Blue-Ray, VOD, etc. So I doubt he was crying in his Wheaties over the experience of the film.

I was hoping he would do more dramas from now on and stop pigeonholing himself as just an action star. This was a second chance for him and it is so disappointing to see from these projects that he is choosing that he doesn’t want to reach his full potential as an actor.

I don’t know why some movie producers don’t use the Internet to do a good search about Brazil. The whole world must forget “samba”, “mulata”, “futebol”, “Pelé” and etcetera. Sao Paulo is not Rio de Janeiro! In “Fast 5″ got a lot of speech errors, plates in bad portuguese (spanglish, I mean…). Lame.

I believe arnold is going to give his best now in the last stand, why b/c his been through scandals, divorce settlement, and now his wealth has been shared among him and his wife who never forgive at her age. Arnold needs money and this is where the money is comin, so his out to give his very best. Ride on arnold babe.
