The Warlock is gone. A contrite Charlie Sheen looked like his old self in an appearance on The Tonight Show tonight. He didn’t even try to defend any of the actions last spring that led to his firing from Two And A Half Men. ”I thought I could come back, kinda like you did,” he told Leno who returned to The Tonight Show after his 10 PM show failed. Responded Leno, “At least one of us got their job back.” Sheen was asked if he was still angry towards CBS and the Two And A Half Men producers over the sacking. “No, no. I would have fired my ass, too,” Sheen said. ”Well, maybe not like they did.” As for his media blitz last spring, “I said some things that were a little out there,” Sheen said. “I might have overshot the mark a little bit. But these were just metaphors. I didn’t really believe I had tiger blood or Adonis DNA. These were just jokes.” Leno followed up with, “Many people thought you were out of control. Were you out of control?” Answered Sheen, “Absolutely.” Here are two clips from the Q&A:

Sounds like he was going through withdrawal during the craziness, and now he’s all good. When ppl go through withdrawal they aren’t themselves. And he, being a bit nuts normally, was extra insane.
Newer antipsychotic meds are the reason he can function this way. I guarantee he’s been successfully treated to get him back.
Wow. How dramatic a change. I’m still blown away.
I think he was just not grounded and some time by himself (not working) made him realize again who he was, what kind of character inside himself that he really wants to have. Staying away from the drugs probably helped too.
With all the latest appearances, Charlie is making so much publicity for CBS. Can they kiss already!
Admitting he behaved like a total ass makes me hate him a little less. -_o
He was smart to bow his head instead of trying to hem-and-haw about what happened.
But, what of the lawsuit? “I would have fired my ass too” doesn’t support a wrongful termination claim.
I’m guessing that this interview will come up in the proceedings. Probably not the best statement for Sheen to make if he’s still going through with it.
It’s more what they have a right to do, not what they should have done. It will be brought up, but if they wrongfully terminated his contract then it doesn’t matter what he says. So, it’s not as damaging as you might think.
Most acting agreements for actors of Sheen’s stature are “pay or play” for a guaranteed number of episodes. He will get the guaranteed amount. That is for certain.
Most acting agreements, including Sheen’s, contain clauses allowing dismissal for acts embarrassing to his employer. I don’t think the answer is so clear.
If that Charlie is here to stay, then welcome back.
Hopefully it’s not just all an act to get his high-paying gig back from Ashton Kutcher and hop aboard the crazy crack train again.
Talk about “Spin City”!!!
I’d assume he’s not going through with the lawsuit. And this appearance, plus laughing at himself at the Comedy Central Roast is a way to do a big Hugh Grant style mea culpa and get back to being a working actor.
(Who allegedly did hit his wife, but I’m sure Jay didn’t ask about that.)
Ha-ha. Who knew. That in a few months Charlie Sheen would sober up and realize what he has done to his career and how he lost his money cow.
Has he stop taking drugs? Is it some temporary soberness? Too late Charlie. Now you will be know forever as that loser who threw away 40 millions dollars a year. Because he was incredibly stupid.
Not so fast. He gets paid as long as the show is on the air. Research it. I didn’t make it up. So he didn’t “throw” any money away, and he is still…. “winning”
It was not just the ‘tiger DNA’ and ‘winning’ – it was the online rants, the mistresses he paraded around with his kids, the out of control stage shows and the behavior before that – the meltdown in the Plaza, etc.
There is the manic phase and the depressive phase but often between the 2 is a window of calm like the eye of a hurricane. Its not what Sheen is now – its what he will be a few months from now that will tell the tale. Of course he could be getting treatment – hope so.
Yep…let’s hope he stays on his meds. Bi-polar disorder can be a cruel disease. It’s hard on families as well as the person suffering, especially during manic phases. So God Bless Charlie and I truly wish him and his family wellness.
It was HIS life not yours, the online ‘rants’ well there were ‘rants’ towards his boss (and there was a feud already behind the scenes, Sheen had his part, Lorre and Co TOO) otherwise it was not ‘rants’ just some speech most of the time funny and creatives with fun catchphrases.
And you don’t know nothing about manic-depression..pathetic your sort of diagnostic type of lecture..pathetic and fake.
Anyway Sheen is talented, i always liked him as the funny and very charismatic actor that he is, looking forward to watch his next projects.
I gotta feeling that
the new two and a half men will bomb
they will have to beg for charlie to come back
face it, without him that show will not work,
Dear Charlie. Stop dreaming.
Well maybe now he will go and get into rehab and stay sober. CBS did the right thing in Firing him. Its too bad, he is a very good actor but enough was enough. Two and a half men will end before November. But I suspect the Charlie in time will be back. He is going to get a pass on it.
Love how Charlie is blatantly promoting his roast. The train, the conductor… He’s a smart guy.
remember he is an actor- could he be now? and actually- I don’t care but I do hope he has found peace.
New and improved contrite Charlie Sheen.
Translation: Charlie is broke and needs money again.
Now fire Bruce Willis’s son and hire Sheen back before it’s too late
That thought had also occurred to me.
So much for a Wendy Williams EXCLUSIVE!
Charlie is doing good PR..Great for Charlie no bitterness
How U doing
Loved the Leno Interview ,Good work Charlie
You Rock!
Welcome Back
To JDOG……… Maybe he is just growing up and being responsible, you think?
Who cares? The oldest Sheen made a Cappola picture once; end of footnote. Real news is that Chuck Lorre has a great new comedy starting Monday night…
in other words charlie is trying to mend some bridges because he needs a job again. nice to see he admited that cbs was right to fire him for his behavior.finaly.
He has a new show and a new movie, try some more original bashing, it is boring..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The first episode this monday will say everything!!!
