• If you notice…not too many comments. She’s ridiculously gorgeous, but incredibly boring. She’s that girl we’re supposed to love, but we don’t. ‘Hollywood’ loves her though.

• I agree with anonymous. No personality onscreen. Great in Monster but as bland as a vanilla milkshake in everything else. She’s like Uma Thurman, another tall blond who makes a weak impression in front of the camera and whom audiences couldn’t care less about.

  • I totally agree, and the Uma Thurman analogy is an apt one. She has little presence on screen, and her career has been bumpy. She never followed through on that post-Oscar momentum. ‘Aeon Flux’ was a misfire, and she’s been all over the place ever since, without really being anywhere at all.

  • Clearly you want personality actors. Charlize Theron is not Julia Roberts. She is just another good actress who is interested in disappearing into her roles. It’s not about her presence, it’s about her character. Just because she’s beautiful some of you expect her to have a movie star career. If she’s signing on to do projects like In the Valley of Elah, Sleepwalking, and North Country, clearly she’s looking for something deeper. I look forward to seeing her in the next Jason Reitman film.
