After The Expendables turned in a surprisingly strong $275 million worldwide gross, many have wondered what they would do for an encore. How’s this? Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have just closed deals to take “substantial” roles in The Expendables 2, alongside Sylvester Stallone. This has been rumored as possible, and it basically answers the hopes of a lot of fans who weren’t satisfied when action icons Schwarzenegger and Willis turned in cameos in the original, and poked fun at the days when they were the world’s top action stars. Stallone directed the first one but stepped out and the job went to Simon West. Filming will begin in October, and Lionsgate will once again release the Millennium Films-produced actioner. Schwarzenegger and Willis are repped by CAA. Schwarzenegger is already working for Lionsgate in the Jee-Won Kim-directed action film Last Stand. Willis will squeeze in the role before going off to Russia to reprise his John McLane role in Die Hard 5, which just landed John Moore as director at Fox, and then he will make a sequel to Red. Aside from Stallone, original cast members Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews and Jet Li are expected to return, and there is buzz about Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Do we need to start a petition for Jeff Speakman?

Where’s Steven Segal on that list?
Seagal is not on the list because he and producer Avi Lerner have bad blood. I believe he was approached for the first one.
i thought it was JCVD and Seagal who didn’t get along?
He’s busy driving tanks through walls and running over puppies.
Where is the new action hero of Hollywood – Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) – He is good and of course, it adds the universe’s diverse ethnicity too.
Seagal has got to lose 70 lbs. Then he’ll be in Expendables 3.
Just like I always planned.
They may be carrying more Viagra and Celebrex than ammo but I don’t care– I’m there.
This should be great! Arnie and Willis can deliver some comedic levity as well as kick some ass. As dangerous but lovable tough guys go, it would be awesome to see Bas Rutten in this too.
heck yeah, Bas would be a great addition!!!
Speakman?? Jeez.
What this movie needs is a whole lotta Bolo Yeung.
Bolo Young! He was Chong Li in Bloodshot, the final guy, and a fighter in Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon. He would be awesome.
silly autocorrect on my tablet. He was in Bloodsport, not bloodshot
Bolo Yeung was in BLOODSPORT and also in Double Impact but was best known for being the bodyguard in the movie Enter the Dragon
I’m with you on that one! Bolo is one of the best movie baddies of all time!
I can’t believe Carl Weathers hasn’t been mentioned. Come on, where the hell is Apollo Creed?
Yeah, I just love Apollo Creed. That would make me very happy!
I think Stallone and Carl Weathers had a falling out. It was mentioned when Rocky Balboa came out.
But yeah, I agree it would be awesome to have Creed in the movie.
Arnold’s never forgiven him for lying about that mission in Central America. He and his people were a rescue team…not assassins.
It’s not Carl’s fault. The CIA had him pushing too many pencils.
Predator = the best handshake in movie history!
That made me LOL for real!
Carl Weathers would be PERFECT! The guy is still in phenomenal shape, plus he’s already worked with Sly (Rocky) AND Arnie (Predator). There was an online poll recently where fans got to submit thier list of who else should be included in this movie. Here’s my take: Carl Weathers, Bolo Yeung (as a bad guy of course), Ving Rhames, Wesley Snipes (if he’s out of prison yet), and Ken Shamrock (villian).
you mean action jackson.
Swayze would have been awesome, R.I.P, but what about Kurt Russell, dude is hilarious!!! Tango & Cash baby!!! Or an appearance from Clint Eastwood or Harrison Ford. Michael Biehn would be another one who could have a major role!!! Terminator, Navy Seals…….dude was the shit!!!
Yaaaaaaawwwwwwwwn!
And I wouldn’t pay dime one to see Ahnold in anything.
I would not pay a dime or let my Grandchildren see this man who not only cheaed on his wife in their home , but had a son whom he kept hid all this time. Nowm he act like he has done nothing. He slept with the hired help but had her in his family home. he is a disgraced. Now walks around like he is King.
Who cares about that? Most of these guys, most actors, most politicians, hell, most men are guilty of such shenanigans. We’re far to quick to damn these days. Have you considered how Arnold’s marriage might have been? What if he couldn’t keep his romance alive with his wife. A governor can’t just get divorced.
The most honorable man today of that list is likely Chuck Norris. Think he’s been a shining hero with women? You should read his book.
and all you ever heard was that clinton was nobodys business it was between him and his wife
ARNI ,why not? he is an actor not a saint, he has sense of humor @ funny acent… this movie needs some hot chicks.to many dudes,LOKEN,KEYS,BIEL,UNION,KELLI HU,SOFIA BUSH..YEA I am a dude, want to se some hot chicks naked,, dudes beating the crap out of each other,,,yea maybe KEYS VS BIEL mud wresseling half naked,,, yea,,big hit
Won’t be fooled again.
Chuck Norris? Is the production aware of how old Norris is?
and have you SEEN Norris recently? He sort of looks like he’s time-traveled. He really looks great – dunno if it’s sake or port or b-12 shots but damn.
Not much older than Sly and Arnold.
Time is afraid of Chuck Norris so it cannot age him.
Fantastic. The first was so-so, but I’m willing to give it another go.
This sounds crazy – But perhaps Sly should consider adding a Bollywood Star. The B.O. would increase incredibly in the UK and India. This seems like a no brainer- Especially since guys like Hritik Roshan and Shar Rukh Khan are just as ripped and speak English.
I don’t mean to be harsh but all the actors starring in the Expendables movie are top guns and internationally acclaimed superstars.
Guys like Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan are nothing compared to the calibre of these veterans.
Can’t wait for the release of Expendables 2, it’s building up to be an even bigger blockbuster with even more action heroes.
maybe Jackie Chan too?
Please no! We can do without goofy “fight” scenes where Jackie gets his foot stuck in a ladder or a toilet or a bear trap, thank you.
A sequel for Red?! Is there any action movie that won’t have a sequel?
Yeah, what the heck. I would go see this one also.Rent it a few times to.
Insert “Planet Hollywood” debacle joke here.
this is awesome..glad it happened.
I have a feeling this will amount to little more than an extended cameo- much like Mickey Rourke’s appearance in the first movie.
Couldn’t have been that hard to get Ahnuld. Didn’t his schedule, like, really open up recently???
jeff Speakman rawks! C’mon, Sly, bring in The Perfect Weapon!
Owww! Stop with the kicking!
Jason statham made the first movie great
JCVD better be the villain in the movie.
HELL. YES.
But the fact that Willis and Ah-nuld are in it is awesome. The first one was slightly wonky here and there but ultimately great (so glad Lundgren “survived”). Was so happy that it made enough money to warrant a sequel.
But yes, PLEASE have it turn out to be JCVD (and really, the JCVD from “JCVD”) be the big bad behind it all. Then, Seagal could come in for part 3.
Too bad Tony Jaa is a monk now or something.
we need Donney yenn and Tony ja in the 3 sequel
SLY is fighting JCVD,,,and SCOT ADKINS as his lead henchmen… nice
More like “The Depend-ables 2.”
I agree – I never understood why ANYONE liked Speakman. Dullness personified!
BOLO! BOLO! BOLO!
Can’t be anymore disappointing than the first movie was.
Seriously. The first movie was awful. Why did they kill all those people at the end after the bad guy leader was dead? They killed the bad guy, but then they needed to kill hundreds of army grunts who would have been the backbone of rebuilding the island Sly was suppose to want to save? So stupid.
Jump off a cliff a read “War & Peace” on the trip down….
You’re applying LOGIC to an action film???
what a bunch of pear-shaped losers
Screw Van Damme, I hope they score Donnie Yen, that guy is a beast ,vastly underrated. Watch IP Man 1&2.
