Prospect Park, the company, which is taking over from ABC in producing canceled soaps All My Children and One Life To Live for online distribution, just announced that it has reached the first agreement with AMC cast members to continue on the show. Pending a final sign off by AFTRA, the actors who have committed to stay on AMC are Cameron Mathison (Ryan Lavery) and Lindsay Hartley (Dr. Cara Castillo Martin). The first soap actor Prospect Park reached out to after securing the rights to AMC and OLTL was AMC star Susan Lucci. After she ultimately turned down the financial offer, said to be matching her current salary at ABC, Prospect Park shifted its attention to the higher-rated OLTL, signing four actors from the show as well as executive producer Frank Valentini who will continue with OLTL as it migrates online and will also serve as VP Serial Dramas at Prospect Park.

Lindsey Hartley has been a gentle force to be reckoned with on the show these past few months and, if the show hires a decent headwriter, she could easily be the heart of the next version. She has connections to everyone on canvas, an odd backstory that lends itself to some future action and she’s actually talented. Good news.

WHO???…and who cares! Without Susan Lucci, Jeff Kawtinez and that sadly untalented person, Laurie Fernaue(been kicking around for years undermining Jeff all the way..return your phone calls lady…)don’t have a show. It’s that simple.Still, I hope jeff can find a way to pull it off. Many of us respect and like him.

Good news. But I’m still waiting for Susan Lucci to sign. I’m hoping both parties can come to an agreement. I won’t be watching online or purchasing any sort of online subscription unless Susan is on board.

Well, it doesn’t surprise me that Cameron Mathison as he says “yes” to pretty much anything and he likes being in Los Angeles but I’ll be surprised if they get 1/2 the cast to sign on. They should have just ended the AMC on ABC to give it a proper send off and did a spin off version of the show online – ie All My Children: The New Generation.
OH PLEASE!!!! Lindsey (SCARA) Hartley is a mess! If she’s not crying and feeling sorry for herself, she’s all moist-eyed and looking like she’s about to cry about something!!! That’s ALL SHE CAN DO!!!! CRY!!!!! That’s all she could do on Passions and it doesn’t appear she’s advanced any further. She and the actor playing (Stiff-en) are weak links and BOTH are so wooden and w/out emotion (other than the CRYING!!!!) it is to LAUGH!!!!
To even SUGGEST that this little amatuer could begin to “replace” Susan Lucci or the character of Erica Kane is ridiculous on it’s face and more than a little shortsighted, not to mention blind.

Its a great soap with or with out Susan Lucci .

Its a start, with all the other out of work soapers around it might be a very interesting AMC.
I’m a long-time viewer who thinks it’s time for Susan Lucci to retire. Her storylines about being a femme fatale just aren’t believable any more. Bring on Lindsey!!! I’d buy a subscription to see Cara far more quickly than I would to watch Erica pretending to be 20.
oltl is currently the best written of the soaps. I hope they continue online
So tired of the Kane women. Would be happy if none of them came back. And to Layne, no one suggested that Cara replaces Erica. Erica cannot be replaced, but if Susan doesn’t want to come back, the show will be just fine without her.
I love All My Children and I am so happy that it will be continued online. I wish Susan Lucci would stay with the show; but if she doesn’t, the other actors are great also. I especially hope that Michael Knight stays with the show online.
I am delighted that Prospect Park is beginning to sign AMC actors. I believe this is just the beginning, but I was afraid they would back burner AMC & concentrate on OLTL. The fact that they are signing ANC actors is a very hopeful sign. I’m hoping that Lorraine Broderick will stay on as head writer. She can make good stories out of whoever stays, I’m sure. I’m hoping very hard for Vincent Irizarry, Michael E. Knight, Jill Larson & Walt Willey. But I hope a lot of the actors will be onboard. This is the wave of the future.
I love All My Children and hope that most of the cast members will sign on with PP. It’s time for Susan to retire. Families come and go – all they need is a new family with big bucks (like the Chandlers) to keep the saga going. Also need to keep Dr. Hayward on board – he steals the show.
Im a big amc fan, but glad to see SL go. I never thought she was a good actress, all the other rolls she’s done, her acting was the same. So you cant say its just the roll she played. I cant wait to watch it online, although im not quite sure how or where or when to watch it.
I agree! Susan Lucci was a major drag on AMC…terrible acting!! I still can’t believe the whole show was replaced by a cooking show. Go figure!
What kind of “Finale” was THAT? Did I miss something? J.R. hiding with a gun—Wasn’t there another person saved by David? Erica and Jack splitting up? Did I miss Stewart’s homecoming? Too many unanswered questions!!!!!
All i know for sure is i rather watch even 2 original cast members of all my children then support abc by watching the chew that is the replacement.Are there not enough food shows?
The fact that the show has been on for 41 years speaks for itself, shows come and go one season after another. The ‘Chew’ show is doomed to be canceled after one season, if ABC has not noticed there are a few presently on. I understand that ABC is concerned with making money, but history and culture and making such a long time connection with a population, that most everyone knows the show just by its initials and have continued to watch the show whether consistently or keeping up with it here and there through friends shows that the show has woven itself into our culture, which is rarely accomplished. As for the 12-1 oclock slot, I will do my own very personal mini protest to ABC that sometimes you have to hold on to some things because they do connect us, even if through some frivolous way like watching an old soap opera.

I totally agree about hoping THE CHEW tanks before the first season is over!!!!!! I for one will watch less & less of ABC network since the are so unconcerned about what thier viewers like. I’ve watched AMC since the begining & they way the ended the last show was very upsetting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I truly hope the show starts up soon. another question is why didn’t soap net continue the show???????????
First off i know Susan Lucci would have to take a pay cut but god she has been on the show forever. I do my job cause i love it not for the pay she has a lot of money and other investments she could handle a paycut for a show she claims to love. I she wont we dont need her get another young actress started on moving up. i will follow amc online. been watching it for 31 years and now 2 of my kids watch it.
I was crushed when the last episode aired. I knew it was coming but still heart breaking. Knowing I will be able to watch it online makes me feel better. I have been watching it for years. I really hated to see it leave tv. I hope all cast members continue except Susan Lucci. I think the cast and show will do great without her. Would be great if crying Cara didn’t return as well.
I am another sad viewer..I am not happy AMC didnt care enough about their viewers to continue. the Chew bites…I watched the first 10 minutes and turned it…Stupid. It wont air long. I have watched AMC since 7th grade…I am now 50.Makes me so mad its gone.
Erica does need to retire. Shes been on a long time and she just needs to go do her movie and let Jack and Crystal get together. I dont like how JR shot someone..or just fired a gun..way to keep us all hanging.ugh! I hope Tad stays on the show..hes awesome and always has a good story line. I dont mind Cara…maybe she will make David a better person..I knows hes a bad dude but he makes a good villian..Didnt like how they made Marissa a lesbian…could do away with Bianca and her now…ugh! So now what to do at noon….take a well deserved nap because I am sure I wont be watching anything on ABC.

I want AMC to continue …. The story is not over and we need Erica back too because she is the center of many of the episodes. I watched it growing up with my mom and it brings back such good memories. Please try to get the Pine Valley gang together for an online series.
