One Life to Live‘s Michael Easton, Ted King, Kassie DePaiva and the cast’s doyen Erika Slezak have become the first actors to sign deals with Prospect Park, the company that in June acquired the rights to continue to produce soon-to-be-canceled ABC daytime dramas One Life to Live and All My Children online. Prospect Park just announcement the pacts with the four actors. (See statement below.)
Meanwhile, I hear that, after a two-week deliberation, All My Children star 
Susan Lucci has turned down Prospect Park’s offer to stay on the show. The offer was for a salary identical to what Lucci currently makes at ABC, but I’ve learned that she tried to gouge the producers for more money while also asking to work fewer hours and get a commitment for a primetime series. In light of that development, I hear that Prospect Park may reevaluate its short-term strategy for the two soaps and put its muscle behind the higher-rated OLTL, while moving AMC to the back burner. Prospect Park’s original plan was to re-launch both OLTL and AMC online in the first quarter of 2012. Lucci made headlines over the weekend with a leaked new epilogue to her book All My Life, in which she blasts ABC Daytime president Brian Frons over the series’ cancellation.
On OLTL, King plays Tomas Delgado, Easton portrays John McBain, DePaiva plays Blair Cramer and Slezak plays the matriarch of the Lord family Victoria Lord. Slezak has been on the show since 1971 and has won six Daytime Emmy awards for the role, an Emmy record. Here is Prospect Park’s statement on the quartet’s new deals:
Pending a final agreement with AFTRA, Prospect Park has confirmed that One Life to Live cast members Ted King (Tomas Delgado), Michael Easton (John McBain), Kassie DePaiva (Blair Cramer) and star of stars Erika Slezak who plays Lord family matriarch Victoria Lord, have agreed to deals to join the company’s new production of One Life to Live. This marks the first confirmation of cast members since Prospect Park began planning for the soap production to live on the new online network beyond its finale January televised date on ABC.

It’s time for Lucci to move to primetime, even if it’s on to USA or TNT networks.
WEll as much as I could argue Susan Lucci should be thrilled with the offer by PP and that she has made a great living off AMC and ABC we may be forgetting one thing. Lucci unlike Deidre Hall, Genie Francis, Tony Geary, Michael E Knight and the list goes on stayed with Daytime remaining loyal and not giving int to testing prime time or leaving daytime (she actually did a lot of prime time form many movies of the weeks to Dallas and such. Surely PP or ABC can arrange somthing to get her on to prime time. I would love to see her as Erica Kane and on prime time. For the sake of AMC and the fans I hope they can work something out even if she appeared in a few shows a month. I think the problem is for years Lucci has played nice. She eserves a lot of credit but she has never gotten the clout of other soap stars.
I’m skeptical about Susan’s alleged motives. She took a huge pay cut a year or two ago to continue with the show so I have a hard time buying salary would be a huge factor in her not continuing when its the same salarly she was getting before.

SUSAN took two pay cuts, moved to LA and they rewarded her by being DECEITFUL AND DISHONEST!!! ABC’s behavior has been DEPLORABLE!!! ABC and Disney are idiots for letting this happen and they DESERVE whatever they get as a result of their actions. One Life to Live is so contemporary and edgy that I seeing it do very well in this new format. Not THRILLED about Easton, but I am thrilled about the other actors. I really do hope that OLTL will hire an outstanding new head writer- NOT FROM SOAPS!!!-
This show can do very well without Carlivati IF they hire outside the genre and maybe pair them with someone with soap experience.
Could care less about AMC. That show hasn’t been good in 15 years.
I think it’s sad that after all the fans fought for these soaps susan lucci is jumping ship and maybe stopping AMC to relaunch online.Very disappointed!!!!!j
Without Lucci Amc online will fail. Who our your sources that said Susan tried to gouge PP for a primetime show and more money. It was Susan who took a big pay cut so the show could go on so this give me more money rings false to me. Abc and Frons r tying to get even with Susan for speaking out against Frons. Good news for OLTL fans bad news for Amc fans.
Personally, I think any actor should view the cancellation of their show as an opportunity to move elsewhere, either to another soap or to another part of their industry. Life is about change, and to make the most of this change, it’s time to move on, instead of clinging to the comfort of a show that has been cancelled and whose future is shakey, no matter what PP says.
I doubt Lucci’s decisions are solely based on “greed.”
AMC moved production to the West Coast and it was a challenge to get Lucci even at that point a year or so ago to agree to the move. If AMC was still filming in NYC I think she’d be more willing to sign.
I don’t believe Susan is holding out for more money for less shows. I know AMC won’t be the same without her, and perhaps it can move forward in the new format.

Hey listen to this before this cancalation Ms Lucci took a pay cut and stood by her fans. She move to from New Yok to Los Angels, she took lot of crap. Also she over 50 I think it is hard out there in show biz some actors leave the soap and never see again. If she wants more money good for her
glad to see two of the linchpins de pavria and Sleazack decided to try to continue the oltl story on line. as for suzann maybe she has finaly decided that her time as erica is now over with with the soap going off the air . that plus the prouders are not going to give her more money to be part of the on line version when parks place proably given the cost of switching the soaps to online proably do not have the bucks the network spent on the soaps. plus she was offered what she got paid now.
I’m pretty sure Jerry verDorn is staying with OLTL as well from that radio interview he gave, & that PP are interested in the actress that plays Kim as well. He also said that the Jess & Ford storyline was starting to be dropped as it looked like Bree Williamson was leaving but then said it’s going to pick back up as both actors are staying on. I’m not sure f they’ve already signed contracts or if the details are still being worked out but his interview seemed very promising. I’m ecstatic that Erika Slezak, Michael Eaton, and Kassie DePaiva have all signed on, they play three of my favorite characters. i also heard that PP is trying to get TSJ to sign with them as well and if that happens I’d probably throw a party. I love AMC and Susan Luccis and wish her the best, heard DH wanted her but this is the last season so I’m not sure how smart a move that would be for her but we’ll see… either wayI think they can survive without Erica, she has been on my fast-forward button many a time so I know I could watch without her as long as Alicia Minshew, Vincent Irizarry and Lindsay Hartley come along for the ride I can guarantee my viewership. there are others I’d love to have as well like RB, CM, and of course TK though I doubt he’ll be making the move.

If they plan to back burner AMC they`re just gonna lose all the actors that are ready and willing to move on with the web version. No one is gonna wait around for it. I say just move on without her. Who still watches for just Erica Kane anyways? There is a whole cast of characters that stories could be built around. It will be really sad if AMC gets shoved to the back all because SL didn`t resign. Just stupid!
I soooooo disagree about Susan Lucci. She is a real class act. She actually has taken a couple of pay decreases for the show to be able to continue the past few years. And took another cut when they moved the California.
So don’t go hating on Susan Lucci. Yes, she gave Frons hell, but he deserved it. He has no thought of us soap fans. And the CHEW?? Did you see Whoopi was standoffish when the CHEW person came on the show today? They all were friends with AMC, it is NOT setting well with the girls of the View.

Great that Erika Slezak, Michael Easton, and Kassie DePaive have agreed to stay. Now if they keep Frank Valentini and bring back Robin Strasser they have a great chance for sucess. One Life is by far the stronger of the two shows, Prospect Pack should give it their complete focus. Susan Lucci is the worst actress on T.V. She is always the reason to push the fast foward button, The once great All My Children is a shadow of it’s former self, maybe it’s time to say goodbye.

If this is true about Erica and expecting more than 1 million than it is a slap in the face to her fans. The show to me can go on without her. I feel bad for Walt Willy because his part is with her but maybe it will be with crystal now. The parts with Erica do get boring. Same old same old. Just shows by the OLTL sign ons that prospect parks offers are reasonable and of interest to great actors. I think so many great actors will follow.. it will all work out

This article has ABC written all over it. The word “gouge” is the writer’s attempt to stir up fans against Susan Lucci because she dared to speak the truth about Brian Frons. I know Susan Lucci is a gracious, classy lady who truly loves her fans and has been loyal to AMC and ABC for more than 40 years. Shame on you ABC and the person who wrote this article.
I don’t blame Susan Lucci at all! She has been loyal for over 30 years. She was making 2 mill now she is down to 1. I probably won’t watch her on anything else, but if she can get what she wants, at her age, I say “go for it!”
Susan has played the same character for 40 plus years. In my mind, that’s the definition of “type cast”. She’s great at playing Erica Kane. But I question her abilities to play another character. Amc can still thrive without her. There’s no question. I often fwd thru her scenes anyway. She should be ashamed of herself for being so greedy after watching how hard the fans have fought to save HER job! PP should focus on hiring Melissa Claire Egan and other actors (like Alexis/Babe) who have been let go and shouldn’t have.
