Hasbro Studios, whose kids programming appears mostly on the Hasbro-Discovery channel The Hub in the U.S., is expanding its portfolio overseas, announcing several deals for its brands today in key territories. The pacts include My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Transformers Prime to a pair of Lagardere channels in France; The Adventures Of Chuck And Friends to Super RTL in Germany, which also will get My Little Pony and Transformers via Nickelodeon; My Little Pony, Transformers and Pound Puppies to Nickelodeon in the Netherlands; and My Little Pony, Pound Puppies, Transformers and GI Joe Renegades to a pair of VTM Belgium channels in Belgium. The deals follow the success of My Little Pony in the UK on The Cartoon Network, where it’s been a top-five show since debuting in July, and of Transformers in Spain.

You’d think Japan would get MLP:FIM sooner.
Does Hasbro alone know how to get their shows on things like Netflix?
Embarrassing admission: I was half-watching “My Little Pony” with my daughter recently and have to admit that it got my attention – pretty good gags, visual and verbal, fun anime style. Worlds away from the saccharine My Little Pony of my childhood memories – more like an attempt at “Word Girl.” (Though WG is the gold standard for clever kids’ entertainment for the whole family).
My Little Pony would be a big hit in the states if it wasn’t stuck on The Hub.
It wouldn’t get lost in the shuffle on a bigger network?
It WOULD be a big hit? Lol, do you know how POPULAR that show is? All the episodes are on youtube btw.

My Little Pony is huge with college kids and the like on the internet. Not terribly surprising, since it shares a pedigree with other cross-over hits like the Powerpuff Girls.
It and Phineas and Ferb are the two cartoons I actually enjoy watching with the kids in the family.
