Here’s the first trailer for Universal and Working Title’s Mark Wahlberg-starrer Contraband, an action thriller about a security guard trying to go straight who must return to his old life of high-stakes smuggling to settle a family member’s debt with a ruthless former boss. Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Beckinsale and Ben Foster co-star. The pic, based on the 2008 Icelandic film Reykjavic-Rotterdam, is set to be released January 13, 2012. Baltasar Kormakur directed the remake after starring in, producing and co-writing the original. From the looks of it, this one seems right in Wahlberg’s wheelhouse.

God, Kate Beckinsale is sexy.
I LOVED this script from Aaron guzikowski – this trailer shows the film is going to work – very excited!
I saw this at Nielsen screening a month or so ago and it ROCKED! I hope they don’t change much. I’m looking forward to seeing it when it comes out. Fast, smart, action. You can’t ask for more! (and no, I didn’t have anything to do with the movie – I have a boring day job)
Right. Nothing to do with the movie. Which is why you’re the third comment here.
Wow, that looks good.
Movie looks pretty good from the trailer. Not to mention a solid cast
I don’t know. Looks kind of lame. I’ll probably still end up watching it because I like the type of genre, but honestly I saw shots that were reminiscent of miami vice, inception, training day etc….where’d originality go?
the overall look of the film didn’t even look consistent. Like I said, I will probably still end up watching it because of the same reason I saw Killer Elite, because everything else that is out is sh*t and yeah its my escapist fare for the weekend I suppose. We’ll see.
Lord God, you’re pretentious.
“Say hello to your mother for me.”
So Gone in Sixty seconds except with freight containers?
At least Giovanni Ribisi isn’t playing the same role.
Great work on the trailer!
Foster = incredibly underrated talent.
