Summit Entertainment has released a trailer for Man on a Ledge, the drama that stars Sam Worthington as a disgraced ex-cop who climbs out on a ledge on the roof of a Manhattan hotel to protest his innocence. It’s clear from the trailer there is more going on here than a simple desperate plea for justice. Elizabeth Banks, Jamie Bell, Ed Harris and Anthony Mackie also star in the Asger Leth-directed film, which Summit releases Jan. 13.

This looks f’ing awesome.
Cool concept and exciting trailer, really well cut. Although Sam Worthington is always just, awful.
So it’s like PHONE BOOTH except he’s on a ledge, and there’s a heist. So it’s like PHONE BOOTH meets TOWER HEIST. Wow, looks like a reaaaaaal weiner.
GFD Ed Harris looks old.
Is there any A-list actor right now who’s MORE boring than Sam Worthlesston?
this looks very silly
This looks like the most engaging heist movie I’ve seen in a long time! I’m psyched to see this!
The shot of Worthington looking down to the street…so cool.
Not a fan of Sam Worthington but the rest of the cast looks great. Excited to see it.
Ok, PHONE BOOTH, meets DOG DAY AFTERNOON, meets INSIDE
MAN….looks awesome…I am there.
Also, there’s no # behind it, it’s not based on a old TV show, or a board game, or whatever item is in my pocket, or a verb, it’s not a re-make, or re-imagining, or re-visiting.
This doesn’t look very interesting but it should make a few bucks. Sam Worthington is sexy… not sure yet how good of an actor he is and if he’s doing an American accent he should work a bit harder at it. Elizabeth Banks is hard to take in drama – Her as a cop? Yeah, right… Where was Anthony Mackie? I love him. Wow, Ed Harris is going to grow into a great villain as he ages. What a face!
BTW – He doesn’t “protest his innocence”, he proclaims it…. just picking a knit.
How does this guy continue to work? He’s not that good of an actor, he’s short, and he always sounds Australian.
I guess, “six pack”, tall guys with non descriptive accent represents talent in your views.
That explains the number of movies, with guys just like that, that went down the drain. Big bombs!
So you see, you do not have the recipe to success, not just yet. Keep trying though.
Risky to do a film with a Man on a ledge because all you need is the slightest reason to for the Audience to change from, “don’t do it” to “oh fu*kin’ jump, already”.
There are 4 billion reasons why Sam Worthington continues to work.
He’s serviceable, nothing more. WARRIOR’s Joel Edgerton is equally wooden, flavor-of-the-moment and Australian, yet somehow much much more. What do you think?
Fox Mulder, Sam Worthington was surprisingly good in THE DEBT, and Joel Edgerton is a talented actor ( even though Tom Hardy stole his thunder in the WARRIOR .) .
Yes, being the star of the top-grossing movie of all time really made superstars out of Henry Thomas and Sam Neill.
If you believe that 4 bil has anything to do with worthington and you wouldnt have gotten the same BO or even if plugged in one of 50 or heck, hundreds of actors then I have a bridge in brooklyn Id love to sell you.
Ssssooo…guy who was wrongly imprisoned will prove his innocence by stealing a diamond? Uh, OK, sounds dumb but I’ll go with it. So, walking out on a ledge twenty stories high will make it easy to steal a diamond because rubber neckers on the street are looking up?
Because the armed guards and security systems in place to protect a zillion dollar diamond suddenly stop working when random people on the sidewalks look up.
Oh well, they couldn’t come up with a story that makes any sense but at least they somehow figured out how to work in a chick in a bikini.
Looks like fun to me!
Must say I’m impressed with Worthington’s choices since Avatar…
Must say I’m impressed with Worthington’s choices since Avatar..
Looks exciting. I don’t know why people don’t just Sam Worthington speak in his own goddamn accent, though. I hate that he sounds like an Australian doing an American accent in a high school drama class. In Australia.
I used to be totally underwhelmed by Sam Worthington, my first choice if I was casting for someone to play a plank of wood or log, or I needed someone with no acting ability whatsoever. Then I saw him in The Debt and have had to change my mind. It’s possible, just possible, he’s discovered his inner actor or was waiting for the right material and/or director. I’m willing to give him some leeway now and am keen to see what he makes of this one.
For the record: I have no connection with Sam Worthington in any shape or form. And when it comes to Australians in general I have just one word: Gallipoli! And no, I don’t mean the film, you Vegimite-eating drongo pooftahs!
This generation’s Keanu… but without the ennui.
