Lifetime has renewed its promising new docu-series Dance Moms for a second season with a 13-episode order. The series starring infamous dance instructor Abby Lee Miller will wrap its first season October 5. Over the past four weeks, Dance Moms has averaged 1.6 million total viewers, growing 62% since the premiere. With a median age of 38, Dance Moms, produced by Collins Avenue, is also Lifetime’s youngest-skewing original program. Season-to-date, the show has averaged 1.3 million viewers and 657,000 adults 18-49.

I got so hooked on this show. These women are so catty and over the top it is amusing to watch. Their girls are pretty good dancers so the performances are usually top notch.
Love……Love the show Abby is fantastic and the girls are all so talented. The moms are crazy… But I wait weekly for the show and I spread my approval amongst my friends. I must mentioned how Brilliantly talented Maddie is and she is only 8. Cannot wait for season 2……AWESOME
Why do you always say how Maddie is soo talented because she isn’t the only one who is everybody else is also. Every time I go onto these kinds of websites they always talk about how great Maddie is what about her sister? or even Chloe Brooke Paige and Nea.
i feel so bad for the dance crew because people always call MADDIE,Cloe,Paige,Mackenzie,VIVI-ANNE,Brooke, and sometimes Makenzie really really really bad names and it is not right to do that because they are children! i don’t know why people don’t realize that the children are looking at this and learning from it. If you are a parent of an eight year old, think of how heartbroken you would be if your child knew what all the bad words meant. this abuse needs to stop, NOW! P.S. These “mothers” are worse than Kate Gosselin. At least her kids where age appropriate clothes! All of them are incubating Dina Lohans.
Are you kidding me? They’re in DANCE CLASS. If they let their kids walk around in those costumes on the street, sure, that’s bad… but they’re wearing them on stage. I danced for 9 years and I saw MUCH
worse than that. Their mothers want them to succeed, and they’re doing a good job of it. They’re already paid dancers and none of them are even in high school yet.
Listen, I am a dancer and these girls arnt being abused. They are being pushed to become great succesful dancers. And Kate Gosslins children don’t dance therefore they don’t need to wear two piece clothing. Dancers don’t wear anapropriate clothes. We wear sports bras and biker shorts, so we don’t sweat as much. You need to get a life becuase, im sure you just comment negativly on this show becuase, you can’t dance as good as these girls and you never had expiernces like them. And neither have your children, so I suggest you stop bringing everyone thats talented down becuase you dont know anything and dont have anything to do with the professional entertainment.

I used to be in ballet (for many years) and the moms (and teacher) on this show are not that uncommon.
I love this show! I love Abby Miller and I feel if as a parent or a student, if you can’t take it and all that goes with it, then get off the dance floor!!!!
Love this show! The moms seem fine.. Other than crazy Kathy. I watch it with my 6 yr old dancer son and the girls are very hard working and inspirational.

Totally! Kathy is the only one who seems to be truly forcing her child to dance. Brooke doesn’t always want to dance, but I think it is just because of her teen moodiness and she will one day be happy that she stuck with it. Kathy’s daughter isn’t a great dancer and doesn’t want to dance!
Will Cathy be in the second season?
I hope not. She was just a pain in the butt. She was always saying stuff like, “I’m talking to you teacher to teacher,” and, “From my teacher point of view …”

i luv this show. my daughters luv the dancing and even my boys will sit still and watch. im so glad that chloe finaly got the spot light. she has earned it. i hope she never lets anyone make her feel different. all the girls are amazing and good job Abby!

Abby needs to lose about 250lbs and quit her hateful attitude. She uses this personality to mask the low self esteem she has. When a person has such a high opinion of themselves outwardly, inside there is a huge void.

Many people (fat and thin) have self-esteem issues. Maybe she does, maybe she doesn’t, but it is not necessarily because of her weight. The kids clearly love Abby, sometimes she is “scary”, but they all respect her and are clearly amazing dancers so she is doing something right!
has anyone thought about the fact that this is a TV show? I have a daughter who is 9 and has danced since she was 2 1/2. She puts more pressure on herself than any teacher could. If you truly watched the show and the way the girls looked at Abby you will see respect, admiration and love going toward her. Those girls love Abby. Most reality TV is scripted to a certain point or we wouldn’t find it interesting enough to watch! I love Dance Moms and hope they keep it going for many seasons! As a dance mom, I can relate to each of the people on the show! We all know someone like them in our own lives and that makes it more enjoyable to watch! These girls were given an amazing opportunity in a very tough industry. Way to go girls!
I started watching this on show on Labor Day when they had back to back episodes, I got hooked just watching the couple I saw that I went back started from the beginning and watched them all again, I love this show and all the girls are absolutely stunning and talented, I was so happy when the girls got the music video gig and cried when Chloe got the lead. I find myself being so proud of them and I have never even met them. I cannot wait for Season 2!

This show is like crack. I’m guessing it will continue to gain in popularity. Hopefully, the producers will pony up the money for the rights to the songs that Abby uses so we can actually see the full numbers to the real music.
I am so glad to hear this is being renewed! I am 27 and I LOVE this show. I always DVR everything and watch it later. Some series are left on my dvr for a month before I get to them, but this show is always my number one priority.
I really don’t care about the mom drama, I just love the kids and the dancing. I love anything where people have true talent (especially dancing) and get to display that.

This show has totally become an addiction for me! Between DVR and ON Demand I have probably watched all the episodes at least 3 time. Abby is a true artist to the dance world. She is innovated, creative, disciplined and I have literally loved each one of the numbers! My favorite’s are: “Where Have all the Children Gone”. This dance will send chills up your spine. The white dresses convey a polar effect between innocents and fear. When the girls drop off the stage one by one the audience gets a literal feel of the girls disappearing. If you do not keep your eyes on the girl you will lose them in this dance! Awesome! My second favorite is, “Black Swan” with Chloe and Maddy. The girls technique is almost flawless! Chloe hit a home run performing an the evil swan who wants to take down Maddy (Which Chloe accomplished)!!The drama in the show really helped bring a realistic version of the silent competition between the dancers. Whatever you are doing Abby Lee Miller KEEP DOING IT! You are producing real talented dancers and raising the bar for dancers alike. I will see have to add watching a live Abby Lee Miller show to my bucket list!

I’m a little dancer and I love this show!!!! Dur….. Abby’s hard on them, but they’re dancers they need to be pushed. This show has inspired me to become better and work harder! im gonna take gymnastics because of it. I’m at a lot lower level, but who isn’t? I’ve never seen anybody at any age thats as good as them! Nia, Chloe, Maddie, Mackenzie, Paige, Brooke, and even Vivi- shes six for god’s sake!!!!!- are amzing dancers!!!! I have no clue how theyve ever lost!!!!!!!
And Abby…….. is an amazing teacher btw
