Michael Luisi, who until this year ran the day-to-day operations at Miramax as EVP Worldwide Operations, has been tapped as president of WWE Studios, where he joined in January as EVP Business Development and General Counsel. He will report to WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. Luisi will be charged with expanding the WWE portfolio worldwide on multiple platforms — theatrical, home video and VOD. The first project he will oversee is No One Lives, a co-production with Pathe Pictures that stars Luke Evans and is directed by Ryuhei Kitamura. The horror thriller, which Luisi brought to the company, is in postproduction.

Congratulations Michael!
If your name doesn’t end in McMahon, you are just a puppet no matter what they call you. Get that CM Punk movie in production fast.
Lots of wrestlers do well fitting into ensemble casts, but WWE films tend to stink… maybe this guy can turn it around.
Kevin Nash is a guy who could steal the show in Rock of Ages if he has lines. He’s seven-foot and lean, good on the mic and he looks like a bad-ass biker.
Key word in this headline is ‘run.’
Hmmmm, it was a lot more impressive when I could say my old teacher was a bigshot at Miramax.
Congrats, Michael.
Dead man walking.
Wonder what the status of Michael Carrington’s romantic action comedy, “Operation Dad”, is???
Anything to help get that movie studio to produce decent films, instead of the garbage they have been releasing as of late.
At least change their brand.
Congrats, Luisi.
