Former boy band fixture Nick Jonas has been tapped to replace Daniel Radcliffe as J Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Radcliffe ends his run Jan. 1, and Darren Criss handles the role until Jonas begins Jan. 24 through July 1. Radcliffe, who took the stage after completing his Harry Potter series, worked his tail off onstage, handled all the dancing and singing, and turned out to be a box office draw even if he didn’t get a Tony nomination. The question is whether Jonas can do the same, though we know he can sing. Jonas, best known for being one of the Jonas Brothers, has a long resume of stage appearances including playing Link Larkin opposite Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur in the Hollywood Bowl production of Hairspray.

He was really good in London’s “Les Miserable”. He makes a better musical theatre actor than a pop star. He’s very watchable.
Ive seen this exact comment on several sites…are you his rep?
I totally agree. I was shocked when I saw him doing Les Mis. I thought he did a gret job
So is Darren Criss out of the second half of Glee?
quite the opposite, it would seem… from the looks of this article, he’s only slated to do a 3 week run in January
No just 2-3 episodes…
Great choice Nick Jonas is very talented.
He is an excellent performer who I am sure will be amazing on Broadway. I believe this is more up his alley…
He was terrible in Les Miserables – especially compared to the stage pros they got for that anniversary concert. He was awful. Go watch clips on YouTube to see for yourself. He’d probably be okay in a high school production.
Nick Jonas is very good, but I thought Darren Criss was going to be in for longer than a few weeks. What up?
I agree with Jenny, he was AWFUL in the Les Miz anniversary concert that was on PBS. He may be good at filling some seats, but it is a sad concession to make for the production to make a few extra bucks.
It’s not April 1. What the fuck is this?
The good news is that Nick Jonas is finally progressing through adolescence, meaning he is no longer a dead ringer for Fran Lebowitz…
Note to self: Cancel the flight to NYC.
He was great in Hairspray.
I wish people would give him a chance before hating on him.
Seriously?? I thought he was horrible in LES MIZ and in HAIRSPRAY (at the Hollywood Bowl). Whenever he sings he looks constipated!!
This makes the Anne Hathaway-Fantine debacle look like a stroke of genius!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m working on my lobbying campaign to have Justin Bieber cast as Cosette.
