Showtime has acquired Davis Guggenheim’s upcoming music documentary From The Sky Down, about the creation of U2′s acclaimed 1991 album Achtung Baby. The docu, which will premiere Thursday at the opening-night gala for the Toronto International Film Festival, will make its Showtime debut Oct. 29 to tie in with the 20th anniversary of the album’s release.

Achtung Baby’s was U2′s Sgt Pepper. Absolutely brilliant! They should have followed it up with a “back to basics”‘ “White album” like “All That You Can’t Leave Behind”. Unfortunately, they went way over the top with their next album, “Pop”.
Zooropa was the U2 album after Achtung Baby, not Pop.
And all three (Achtung, Zooropa, and Pop) delivered the bands most creative period of work. I don’t think we will ever see another ambitious trio of albums from the boys again.
Zooropa was an EP. Pop was the first full album.
Showtime just continues to beat the brains out of HBO.
“Zooropa” was not an EP, it was a full album with 10 songs. Also, “Passengers” was released before Pop, too.
