EXCLUSIVE: Spike TV, which has built its unscripted brand on urban series like Auction Hunters, Repo Games and Bar Rescue, is heading for the open sea with Diamond Divers, a docu-series about men performing dangerous jobs in a rough environment that is in the vein of Discovery’s The Deadliest Catch and History’s Ice Road Truckers. Diamond Divers, which has received 10-episode order, hails from Undercover Boss producer Studio Lambert. It features a crew of rugged divers and sailors from Washington state who travel to the infamous Skeleton Coast off the dangerous coast of South Africa, renowned for shipwrecks, to mine for diamonds. The crew is led by Captain John, a big-game-hunting, Harley-Davidson-riding, hardscrabble, financially ambitious boat captain. John’s crew members include his son, Jason, a master diver with the occasional temper like his father. The men work for Panda Marine, an international diamond mining and exploration company specializing in marine mining. Diamond Divers will go into production this fall for a 2012 premiere.

IF the pump is strong enough to suck his hand in, then how is there blood in the water? with the volume of water passing through that hose you would have to completly drain him and ten other guys of blood to be seen topside.
One of the crew is a close personal friend and if the crew is anything like him this will be a must see. Way to go spike, can you say homerun.
I think its gonna be a great show. Jason one of the cast members is a gsod friend of mine and he deserves his shot at fame. Hope things work out for you bro. Not easy being the son of Captian John. We’ve had our fair share of rough seas brother don’t forget about the people back home.
I have to agree with you. It is not easy being the son of a captain for my father is the captain of the vessel that is used for Diamond Divers docu-series and my grandfather the owner. We welcome Captain John and Jason and the rest of the cast to the West Coast of South-Africa for the experience of a life time!!
Spike good eye ! Worked for Captin John and Trisha (his Wife). 12 years off and on . Advencher everytime out on the sea ! And helped many people . This show will appeal to both young and old.
Hmm, it’s gonna be fake. Cinematic magic. That’s why there doing a RESHOot. That’s the leak from a real fisherman.
The leak I got is that the mining company took spike for a ride. The equipment was not working. There was a lot of drama involved. Spike end up putting on new equipment So I think this show is going to be one of the best ever. I do not want to miss one episode.
It looks like the Cape of Storms was to much for the great Captain John. He must maybe stick to inland waters. It also sound like the CEO of Panda Marine is just another swindler. Equipment not working and lies wonder what else is wrong there. Another scripted pile of BS. I hope these guys aren’t as dumb as it looks. please don’t use the word REALITY any more you don’t know what means.
Spike had to script and stage this show because they were lied to by Kobus Pansegrouw. He just did this show for the money. He is a professional bullshiter and swindler. His equipment is fake and his concession is to deep for divers to mine. The Americans will never take out any diamonds on that concession. Do not know how the South African government can give such a person a mining concession.
