Having worked on this show I can tell you the people involved are very nice and the show is astonishing in how much work is put into revamping and updating these bars. Great to hear this, they really deserved it!!!
Jon Taffer is a GREAT host on a great show. He blows away Kitchen Nightmares and Restaurant Impossible! I like how edgy it is too. The show is really too good for Spike!
I agree totally, Spike doesn’t do this show justice, mainly because their much to many ads cause breaks that are to long and to frequent.
(I know,I know shows need ads,but here is a point of total distraction)
Came across show when surfing, and got addicted from 1st viewing. Saw about 4-5 episodes. Nice not having just British consultants (cooking and salon shows) and he brings on specialists for cooking and bar areas so he can focus on the big picture. Also like the short follow-ups after they leave to see if the bar is successful or not.
Taffer gets it! Common sense solutions backed up scientifically. I love the stats he throws out there regarding demographics and trends. As a bar owner – this show is “required reading” for me and my staff. Bring on Season 2!!
We’re attempting to open a club in a very trendy area in Milwaukee’s (WI) Historic 3rd Ward. It’s in (as all the buildings are) a renovated century-old warehouse complete with enormous beams, cream city brick, etc. Since accidentally finding John’s program and absolutely loving it, we plan on reading and/or watching everything John has to offer. We already own a successful financial planning practice so we can run a (financial) business. But John seems to be the quintessential expert when it comes to running a club/restaurant so we look forward to learning all we can from him. But all in all, a great “no-holds barred” show for anyone going into ANY business. We have lots of great ideas but it sure would be helpful to get some input from John so we could “hit the ground running”. If ever you find yourself in the Milwaukee area, it sure would be an honor to meet the master!
I rmanage cusomer service for a coomunity bank. My staff and i have gotten a lot of ideas from the show. Please watch the language. Want to use for entrepreneur training
This show is extremely informational for any restaurant and bar owner, and flat out entertaining. Jon Taffer is incredibly smart and he breaks down the common sense mistakes these owners are too stubborn to take control of. HUGE FAN
It’s GREAT seeing my old buddy “Taff” in “his element of expertise”…transforming + helping establishments make a go of it. Taff grew up in and around “quality”…+ it’s obvious he +
the well known designers, bartenders, + chefs he brings in for the resues KNOW THEIR
STUFF TOO!!!!!!! COOL, FUN SHOW….do we get to see the how last season’s rescues are
doing a year later too????????? * Also….my wife + I love seeing John’s wife Nicole!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t wait for the new season. I find this series to be very interesting although I have never owned a bar, and probably never will. Love the straightforward problem solving on the fly.
I love this show and can’t get enough of it. But there is too many commercials on the spike network I would also like him to pay a surprise visit a year or so later to the bars and see how things are going.
I love this show. I could watch the Bar Rescue Marathon every weekend.
I’ve been to a Taffer presentation years ago. His information was amazing as I was starting out! This show should be required viewing for owners that don’t want to spend money to update. Keep doing the same thing and expecting different results = idiocy.
Jon Taffer is the greatest man alive. Brian Hill is a close second.
Having pulled one bar out of the red, I absolutely adore this series. I worked in a bar that had 2 managers before me. They were spineless little boys who refused to stand up for what they thought was right. When i took over my bottom line quadrupled in the second month. Owners, let the people you hire to manage your business do their jobs! Sometimes we REALLY do know better and have your best interests in mind! Maybe if you stopped trying to micromanage, you’d never be in these predicaments.
I love this show! I have been in the biz for over 20 years and this is exactly what I would love to do! A lot of bars I have worked at always seem to grow stale, owners usually never worked their way up, just Sat in a bar and had the money to buy one. I find that when they ask for help they get upset that maybe the employee actually knows more than they do… I would love to be a part of your show, or come to my place of employment and see if you can turn it around!
I quit drinking in 1981, but still go in to a bar on occasion for a soft drink and some social interaction. But this program has taught me a lot about why I liked/disliked places that I did, and learning is learning. Definitely worth a look, this is a reality show I can enjoy.
I agree with you for sure….I also think episodes should be an hour long instead of half
