Writer-producer-director Timothy Scott Bogart, songwriter and music publisher Evan “Kidd” Bogart and TV producer Gary A. Randall have launched Boardwalk Entertainment Group, a media company comprised of five divisions: Boardwalk Films, Boardwalk Television, Boardwalk Records, Boardwalk Publishing and Boardwalk Technology. The company, which is backed by private funding, is designed to be a music-driven operation that empowers artists.
Boardwalk already has feature films in the works, including biopic Spinning Gold, and a TV series in production, Majors & Minors, which premieres on The Hub network Sept. 23. Written by Tim Bogart, Spinning Gold is based on the life of Tim and Evan’s late father, Neil Bogart, who founded indie label Casablanca Records in 1974 and is credited with discovering and launching the careers of KISS, Donna Summer and The Village People, among others. Boardwalk’s offices are housed in the same building as Casablanca. “Boardwalk Entertainment Group is created very much in the spirit of the original United Artists,” Randall said. Added Tim Bogart, “When you walk into the Boardwalk offices, which are in the same space as the original Casablanca Records, you know you’re in a community where artists are empowered to create — it’s the antithesis of a corporate entertainment company.” Boardwalk’s music division includes a record label, a publishing company and a production house that supplies music for the company’s film and television projects. The company has forged alliances with music giant Sony’s RCA/Jive Label Group, Bug Music and BMI. Boardwalk’s technology division is developing products for production and postproduction in film, television, music and digital platforms. The first one, Instant ADR, a mobile Automated Dialogue Replacement device, is in use on TV series for NBC, USA Network, A&E and Syfy.

I don’t care how successful he is, Evan knows the BOMBERS are still terrible!!
Congrats Tim and Gary. You deserve all the success that’s coming to you!!
I hear they are talented! Good luck to them!
is that really their company logo?? no, really, what 6th grader circa 1995 made that on their home pc? maybe they should have started out with just 4 divisions, and allocated the money earmarked for their 5th division into proper marketing/branding instead.
Way to go!
Naming a company Boardwalk is a tribute to Tim and Evan’s father, as Neil Bogart started a company called Boardwalk Records after he sold Casablanca to Polygram in 1980. Sadly, Neil died two years later…
Like Tim and wish him much success…very bright man. What’s the notion about empowering artists…who does that?! Ha, wish you well guys!
Well done, Tim, Evan and Gary. If anyone can fill big shoes, it’s you guys! Here’s to great success for you all.
Neil Bogart was a visionary; got get ‘em guys!!!
Tim! Congratulations. Always great to see what you’re up to. Best of luck with the new venture.
What a feather in their cap and crowning moment it would be to bring aboard the QUEEN of Cassablanca–Donna Summer! Would love to have some new Donna music and this might just be the most perfect fit for her. Rumor is she is working on two albums–a dance one and a standards one.
