Lie To Me star Tim Roth is staying in business with 20th Century Fox TV, the studio behind the Fox drama series, through a talent holding/producing deal. Under the pact, 20th TV will develop a new series as an acting vehicle for Roth. Additionally, the deal includes a first-look component, allowing Roth to pitch series projects to the studio that he may or may not be attached to star in. Feature actor Roth, who made his series debut with Lie To Me, would executive produce any shows that he brings to 20th TV. The studio’s chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman met with Roth in New York in May, just a couple of days after Fox cancelled Lie To Me after 3 seasons, to pitch the British actor the idea of doing a new project together. Walden and Newman were in town or the broadcast network’s upfront presentations, while CAA-repped Roth was filming feature Arbitrage there. “While Lie To Me never had the opportunity to take off, Tim did a fantastic job on the show,” Walden said. “He is incredibly smart, has very good instincts and all creative executives across the board at 20th TV, Fox 21 and Fox TV Studios are excited about possibly working with him.

What a brilliant move FOX! Congratulations Tim! Your Hooligans are so very happy!!! Tim is an amazing and extremely versatile actor and director! Everyone will be looking forward to the magnificent projects that this venture will enable to be created.
Hi from one Happy Hooligan to another! More Tim anywhere is great.
I still haven’t forgiven Fox for cancelling Lie to Me, however, I am thrilled that they are smart enough to latch onto his talent! Sounds like a win win but secretly I’m hoping he acts in the shows that he produces just sayin… Congrats to TIM!
Great actor. Sounds like a good gig. Congrats!
You guys should mention that he’s on Twitter at @TRhooligan1!
Tim Roth is a major talent. Congrats all around..
Brilliant actor, but he was wasting his talent on Lie to Me. Tim needs a cable show.
Anywhere but Fox, Tim!!!
You’re better than that.
Terrific news!
Lie to Me was a crappy concept. Never understood how that show made it to 3 seasons. Tim is exciting to see, although a bit of a pain to work with. A bit self absorbed. Would come in moments before rehearsal and rewrite scenes at the last moment, switching lines and blocking around. Sometimes to the betterment of the scene….sometimes not, but almost always at the expense of the other actors in the scene. Talented? Yes, but a bit inconsiderate.
Nobody asked. That is not what this story is about.
Dear lord get a grip man it was a great series missed by many many fans who hope tim will bring back lie to me, the show was fascinating and made us study body language and hell defiantly not to lie. As for changing the scripts etc well he knew what he was doing and good actors adapt,
Tim Roth is one of the best actors alive. This is a major coup for FOX.
The best news this week for all hoologans
Congrats Tim!! You deserved it.. Huggage
Instead of developing a new series why not just make more episodes of the series Lie to Me. I enjoyed the series as it was before it was cancelled by the network. They should just give it another chance. It seemed more for adults instead of for teenagers.
Anyone else thinking he was a bit sketchy in the last handfuls of shows produced for Lie to Me . . . thought it was canelled for due to the actor needing a “break” . . . totally enjoyed this show, but yes the concept was getting tired . . . looking forward to ANYTHING he thinks up next
I would like to ask Tim Roth to Finnish the series Lie to Me it was a great series bringing interest to the science of body language I found the series app fascinating but I would WELCOME ANY PROGRAM with Tim Roth in as for ( the comment above) Tim changing the script at short notice well actors should be able to adapt and as the show was never boring he was right to change the script so GET A GRIP MAN.
