‘Scandal’ Finale On Small Screen And Onstage At … (September 2, 2011 Los Angeles, CA) — Comedienne, entertainer, radio personality and entrepreneur Sheryl Underwood joins CBS daytime talk show “The Talk” for the start of the second season on Tuesday, September 6. The show airs weekdays at 2pm ET, 1pmPT/CT.
Underwood is a much sought after entertainer who has been described as one of the world’s brightest contemporary humorists. She joins “The Talk,” for the start of season two alongside hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and guest host Molly Shannon. “The Talk,” which averages 2.21 million viewers per day, has a strong profile in the daytime viewing line-up on CBS.
Currently, Underwood can be heard on The Steve Harvey Morning Show, a nationally syndicated show airing in over 64 markets, with over 7 million listeners. Underwood also hosts The Sheryl Underwood Show on Jamie Foxx’s The Foxxhole, airing on Sirius/XM 98, where she provides a mix of political satire, comedy and music. She also is the host of the fifth season of Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-Up airing on STARZ and is a former contributor to the Tom Joyner Morning Show.
She has appeared on the Dr. Phil Show, FOX television network morning show Fox and Friends, the Joy Behar Show, WPIX in New York City and The View, created by ABC News Correspondent Barbara Walters.

It’s great that she’s been hired; she’s truly funny. However, why is she the “conservative comedian” but Sara Gilbert is not classified as the “liberal actress” or Sharon Osbourne as the “liberal hostess”?
She’s considered the “conservative” comedian because she’s mainly a republican (I say “mainly” because I’m pretty sure she said she voted for Obama. Before that, she was George W. all the way).

As much as these changes disgust me (Leah and HRP were the best hosts on the dang show), you’re wrong. Cheaper to procude than a soap, more viewers and, I’d guess, better demos. It’s not going anywhere, probably ever.
I, for one, will probably never watch the show again. Does CBS have a bad habit of just firing people? People that the public finds entertaining. I thought Holly and Leah made the show!
I’ll continue my boycott of not watching The Talk for a second season.

Sssshhhhh…don’t tell the moronic soap opera fans. They are somehow convinced that soaps somehow represent “quality”, despite the awful acting and terrible plots that revolve around people coming back the dead, running into evil twins, and falling in love with their rapists. They’re still in denial about the ratings, too (“Let’s Make a Deal” gets better overall ratings than “Guiding Light” did, too).

Oh, and 3) THE VIEW is nowhere near the best talk show on TV. No need to counter with which is best, but rest assured, that one ain’t it.

Sherry and Elizabeth are sooo irritating, and Barb Walters with all her name dropping and acting like the mother hen…Im so glad there is an alternative. Sometimes I feel sorry for Whoopi, she has no one to have an intelligent conversation with.

I agree with Travis and Zeke, the Talk can not compete with the View. I’m definitely not watching anymore. I had changed my whole work scheldule so I can watch. Holly and Leah were the best hosts they had and the realest. I hope this show goes down the tubes where it belongs now. Julie is only there because of her husband. Sharon blows whichever the wind blows and Sara is a super weird freak who is out of touch and noone cares about anyway. CBS you really blew it.

Grow up already…it only got on the air because plastic-surfery Chenbot is married to the boss, and it only got renewed for that reason. He lowered the standards for her…meanwhile the other hosts hate her, and the audience doesn’t like her either, she has zero personality. Bring back ATWT!

I had started to watch the Talk a couple of months ago, but since they got rid of the best two people there, Leah & Holly, how many people will the Chembot get fired because she doesn’t like them. I won’t go back, and definately not with Kris Jenner…..
Cancel The Talk (which I have not watched) and replace it with what? Another pitiful court show? I know, how about putting a talk show in its place… wait a minute…

Still baffled by why CBS let go of the ONLY two reasons to watch the show, Leah Remini and Holly Robinson-Peete. They were funny, interesting, real and alive – everything the show is not. Were The Chenbot and Gilbert just too afraid that they pointed to how lifeless they were? Makes you wonder.
Underwood’s hiring will have no effect. But it’s the addition of Kris Jenner and the already overexposed famous-for-being-famous Jenner/Kartrashian idiot media whores that is going to be the final nail in this show’s coffin. That whole family needs to be put in a rocket ship, sent to outer space and be forgotten about and then die from lack of oxygen. I love Sara Gilbert but I can’t believe she got herself involved with such a mess of a show. Goodbye, “The Talk.”

It really does seem like they’re trying to copy the view. I don’t know what really went on behind the scenes but I don’t like the new panel and can’t picture the chemistry…and thought holly and leah were great. Sure, leah could have toned it down a bit but that could have been addressed. Sara (Im sure she’s a sweet girl) has no on air personality and is quite boring. Are they trying to get more political with a well known ‘conservative’ comedian? It seems like they’re trying to get Sherri Shepherd+ E Hasselbeck all into one…(and is Underwood even a Mom? Her wiki didn’t mention any children so just was curious since its supposed to be a panel of moms)…and Molly is the new Joy Behar?
Dot even get me started on Kris Jenner. S he’s the last person Id want to hear from on a tv talk show…Get rid of MrsO totally. The Kardashians are all sooooo overexposed at this point and just represent everything wrong with America- the excess- the selfishness -they hypocrisy – making $ out of porn and then sticking your name and logo onto any product that will pay you. The whole family make my skin crawl but if you were picking someone – pick Kourtney – get someone from a younger demo with young children or who could be pregnant again soon vs Kris who’s another woman with grown ass kids. Who are you targeting CBS? Grandmas or young women at home during the day.
THE TALK came on right after my baby was born and it was season-passed on my DVR – I watched it while I nursed my baby and, thus, saw every episode at one point in the day. It is THE ONLY show that talks to moms who surely are the majority of those at home (I was also laid off 2 years ago so I also make up the Unemployed contingency). At first, I couldn’t understand why a talk show to moms would be full of Hollywood types instead of any real women with real lives who might be remotely relatable. I also wondered why it was full of ’90s sitcom stars. But, I have to say, HRP & Leah won me over. They were the personality of the show (perhaps Mrs. O would be if her comments weren’t constantly silenced by a long silent shot of the audience).
While I am intrigued by Sheryl Underwood, I am more DISGUSTED by the addition of Kris Jenner. UGH. Isn’t she one of the worst moms in pop culture today? I’ve seen 3 eps of KARDASHIANS & in all of them she has her daughters posing nude or nearly nude. Who in middle American can relate to this or find her aspirational? Reality stars are not “relatable” – they are whom we find ridiculous, shocking and atrocious. Will Leah be replaced by Dina Lohan?
I won’t be watching Season 2 of THE TALK.
