Carter Covington, creator/executive producer of ABC Family’s series version of 10 Things I Hate About You, has sold two comedy projects, both with top pods. At ABC, he has Where’s My Wand, from Happy Madison, Sony TV and ABC Studios, and at Fox he has Threepete, from Shawn Levy and Marty Adelstein’s 21 Laps/Adelstein and 20th TV.
The single-camera Where’s My Wand is based on Eric Poole’s comedic memoir of the same name about a boy growing up with his long-suffering father, his older sister, and his cleanliness-obsessed mother. The multi-camera Threepete also is a family comedy. It revolves around a grandfather, father and son who share the name Peter — and little else. WME-repped Covington also worked on ABC Family’s Greek.

Great news! Carter is top notch all the way.
The trend this season to buy multiple pitches from the same people is going to end in horrible failure.
Get your specs ready for January!
Threepeat sounds really good. Smart premise. It’s about time.
This is a great premise? I have no idea what the show is about. Three guys named Pete that don’t get along. Who the hell knows what that is and if it’s a great premise?
Good for Carter. His show, “10 Things I Hate About You” was wickedly funny, smart and perfectly cast…too bad the teens who watch ABC Family didn’t flock to it. I think both of these pilots sound like perfect fits for their respective networks. Great news for a deserving, witty as hell writer like Carter!!
Congrats to one of the nicest guys in hollywood!
Had the pleasure of working with Carter on “10 things i hate about you’ and he deserves this as he is so very talented and great to be around on the set
AMEN!!!
Eric Poole’s book is a really funny read that has all the raw materials to make a big hit on ABC. This is their next family comedy smash. Kudos to all!
“…both with top pods.” Thanks for reinforcing the idiotic notion that pods are in anyway helpful and not just a money suck.
“Threepete” reminds me of Pete and his brother Pete on The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
This is awful news for us non-nice guys and non-nice guy supporters. Awful. Just plain awful.
This comedy sounds like it would be better suited for the ABC Family network.
ABC had a real good show called Eastwick that would have been a good show to pair up with the new series Happily Ever After. Unfortunately they let it go way too soon.
