Shonda Rhimes’ company Shondaland has sold its fourth project this season, drama The Circle to ABC. Written by Richard Robbins (Shondaland’s Inside The Box), the ABC Studios-produced project is described as part soap, part conspiracy thriller that follows ten friends, adopted as children by a billionaire philanthropist, who begin to question their past when one of their own is murdered. Robbins and Shondaland’s Rhimes and Betsy Beers are executive producing. The Circle joins Shondaland’s other 3 projects this season, Gilded Lillys from writer KJ Steinberg and a legal drama from Jenna Bans at ABC and the company’s first sale to an outside network, dramedy Wildwood, which received a put pilot commitment at Fox.

This woman will put her name on anything.
I’m glad she’s a huge success but these loglines have got to go.
Dang! ABC loves them SHONDALAND! Why don’t they just marry her already???
So much jealousy from the ‘entitled’ ones on this blog….pathetic
bitter as shit. And loving it! Can’t wait for Shonda to go all supernova.
I would kill to be on the Shondaland gravy train.
Kill no. Maim? In a heartbeat.
Count me in, Surprisingly I find that premise interesting. but I like mystery drama conspiracy shows with murders! Probably the best sounding Shondaland pilot this pilot season!
Much congradulations keep on keepin on.
Here’s what you can absolutely expect from any Shonda Rhimes procject: There will be woven into any storyline, 1.A lesbian couple, 2. A gay couple, 3. An interracial couple, 4. An abortion rights theme, 4.Hard leftist ideoligy wrapped around all storylines. Shonda Rhimes is as edgy as a stick of butter.
“that follows ten friends, adopted as children by a billionaire philanthropist…”
That would make them siblings, not friends, no?
