No decision has been made yet. But studio sources say it “looks likely” that Sony Pictures, which had scheduled its hunt-for-bin Laden film for release October 12th, is moving it to later in 2012 or into 2013. That puts it after the 2012 election and ensures that the film won’t become a so-called “October surprise” and boost President Obama’s re-election chances by reminding voters that his administration caught and killed the al-Qaeda leader. Doubtful this will quiet all the partisan political talk in Washington and Hollywood about the Mark Boal-Kathryn Bigelow film.

Please start this movie with the clip of Baby Bush saying “I don’t know where he is… I don’t think about it, I don’t care!”
Release dates’ influence on the election is a moot point. The President didn’t get a bounce in the polls from the killing of Bin Laden. How will a movie version affect anything? Except maybe an increase in applications for the Seals.
Wrong.

From the article: “Fifty-six percent of Americans now say they approve of Obama’s performance in office overall, according to the poll — nine percentage points higher than an ABC News/Washington Post poll found last month, and the highest rating for Obama since 2009.”
yes, a spike in recruitment for sure…although most team guys outwardly detest the release – we all anxiously await and will flock to the theaters as silently as we do operationally – its what we do….and, one thing most of us agree is that the story will (and must) be told – Mark/Kathryn will do it up right.
“Reminding voters that Obama’s administration killed Bin Laden”… quite a feat seeing as he died of natural causes in December 2001!
It should make a great action packed, suspense filled movie alright. Winning the war on terrorism with full flag-waving support and co-operation from the military.
All the fake Bin Laden videos… keeping him politically “alive” as the boogey man for this whole massive cruel charade that is force-fed to the unsuspecting and trusting masses.
And everyone thinks HOLLYWOOD is the dream factory!
If you believe this, you are living in a weird little conspiracy dreamland. Personally, I think you don’t believe it at all.
“…boost President Obama’s re-election chances by reminding voters his administration caught and killed the Al-Qaeda leader.”
Typical liberal spin. Had not Bush’s interrogation policy been in place, which Obama opposed and never would have allowed, the intelligence that enabled the capture never would have materialized.
You Hollywood Marxists surely are good for laughs.
They got the information from a source that wasn’t interrogated, you moron.
The people and studios in Hollywood make a lot of money for themselves. Pretty sure you don’t know what a Marxist is…
Ferdinand Verbiest invented the car. Henry Ford took that invention and did something useful to all of us. Understand the analogy?
“…by reminding voters that his administration caught and killed the al-Qaeda leader.”
Sorry, I must have missed it when it was reported Obama and his advisers were on the helicopters and led the assault on OBL’s compound.
