EXCLUSIVE: Mireille Enos has signed with CAA. She was with Innovative Artists. Enos got her big break when she was cast as the lead on AMC’s drama series The Killing, a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination. Since then, Enos has landed her first lead role in a studio feature, Paramount Pictures’ Brad Pitt starrer World War Z, which she just wrapped. She is now filming Gangster Squad opposite Josh Brolin and will next begin production on the second season of The Killing. Enos, who previously had a recurring role on HBO’s Big Love and was nominated for a Tony in 2005 for Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?, continues to be repped by manager Howard Green and attorney Mitch Smelkinson.

Poor Innovative. Nice poach CAA but she will be buried in that list of women you have.
What was wrong with her former agents? Looks like they were doing a fantastic job for her… CAA just wants another package element. She’ll end up doing a lot of crap like so many others before her…
what did innovative do wrong???
They worked so hard for her and did a great job
Did you ever hear of her two years ago? Nope…no one did but they managed to get her the lead in a show…
It’s always a shame when actors jump ship from the reps who got them where they are and are clearly doing a great job. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.
never understand why someone like this would leave for an agency as huge as CAA. what does she really gain? not much. good luck.
Oh yes – another one leaves Innovative for the “power” of CAA. But she’s likely to get lost in that list of women over there.
Hey CAA, why don’t you actually spend some time on this one and not let her slip into mediocrity just so you can make a quick buck? Like so many others…
I’m curious about the major question that many of you here have been asking. It seems that Enos career is redhot and obviously much credit should go to Innovative. Why would she move over to CAA? Could someone outline the benefits from this? I’m not being sarcastic, I would really like to get a qualified answer. Thank you.
They (Innovative) probably remind her of her struggling actress days. She was brought into the Death Star, and they threw names at her. Maybe invited her to a party or two. They made the point that THIS is her moment. Probably asked her is she had been reading for certain projects (they knew she wasn’t even right for) just to mind fuck her. You know the answer to you question…They have her thinking she will be a huge, above the title movie star.
When I read this, my first response was “shame on you CAA, shame on you, Ms. Enos. Where is your loyalty”. However… as fond as I am of Innovative, when CAA comes calling, it’s your job as a Manager to let your client know. And as wonderful as Ms. Enos is in The Killing (as well as Big Love), she is an odd, slightly specific actress and will not be right for every role. NOW is her time, this is perhaps her only moment and it’s her life. Getting lost at CAA? That can happen at any agency, including Innovative. If we’re honest here, a move from Innovative to CAA is probably a wise choice, if disappointing to her team at Innovative, who should be very proud of the work they did.
I think Ms. Enos is looking to solidify her standing and “heat”, with some lead roles in films during her hiatus and delivering a strong Season 2 of The Killing, and she and her Manager obviously felt this would be achieved more readily at CAA, one of the best Agencies in the business. And it is a business, actors do what they have to do to keep working. Any actress over the age of 12 is fearful of their future.
At the end of the day, she is a very good actress, Innovative did a brilliant job getting her to today, and CAA is one of the finest. Does that help explain why she would move?
The manager was behind this looking to make a name for himself. His idea for actress to make a move. Now that she is at CAA time to find a real manager.
Poor Innovative!!!
They fatten FROGS for SNAKES…
Mireille Enos is terrific, recalling the fierce appearance and acting chops of Gillian Anderson.
May Mireille showcase her talents elsewhere and leave the sinking ship that is THE KILLING as soon as she can. It’s the most maddening, poorly written drama of the year by far, that’s significantly watered won the brand value of AMC.
Why are people such know it alls!! If she wants to leave she can do whatever the f she wants. She deserves a shot at becoming what she has always dream to become: a movie star. Lay off the haterade and be happy for her.
@AM Couldn’t agree with you more. The manager seems to be behind this.
Agree with the rest of the comments. It’s curious what Innovative did wrong especially since it seems as though she’s being well taken care of.
Was there a contract between Mireille and Innovative? If there was, it is likely to have expired and they were not able to offer her a new one worthy to be considered. CAA might have presented colorful offers. I don’t blame her. She’s a great actress and she’s gorgeous. She should have won that emmy best actress-drama. I wish her all the best.
OK here’s the deal, i fear many of you don’t truly realize how the representation business works – or most of you are the bitter ones from smaller agencies and management firms who have been let go in a similar fashion. Growing as an actor in this business is not merely talent based. There are lots of talented people who never work – and conversely there are lots of untalented people who never stop working. Information, opportunity and access go a long way in further propelling an actor’s career. Some agencies are simply able to provide more information, more opportunities and more access. As good as a place like Innovative is (and i think they’re a great agency for a certain level of actor), they will eventually hit a ceiling with what they are able to do for an actor whose career is taking off. The same way that a more developmental actor eventually leaves their very first baby agency to go to a place like Innovative. It’s not personal, it’s just business. As far as being a manager is concerned, the loyalty is the client, not the agency. If a manager is not keeping a client in the loop as to what is going on, or have the client’s best interests at heart, then the priority is screwed up and the manager is going to get canned. Seems like the manager did everything right and kept things on track at Innovative for as long as possible. I’m sure she was being chased since the day she booked the pilot of the show and she didn’t jump ship immediately. decisions like this are not made overnight (nor should they be). it’s ignorant and naive to say “the manager was behind this!” – if the manager was behind anything, he was behind his client – doing what was best for her and her career. it’s the circle of life people and i don’t know how or why anyone is surprised. whatever happens next in this actor’s life we shall see, but for now, it was the right move to make. she’s an incredibly talented actress and i can only hope caa does right by her.
