EXCLUSIVE: Singer-actress Christina Milian (It’s About Time) has been named as the new Social Media Correspondent for the second season of NBC’s singing competition The Voice. She replaces Alison Haislip. “Christina’s extensive musical background and widespread recognition make her the perfect choice for the role of Social Media Correspondent on The Voice,” said NBC’s president of alternative programming Paul Telegdy. “Her experience as a singer will provide a comfort level to our artists when they speak to her about the ins and outs of the competition.” The Voice, hosted by Carson Daly and starring musical coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, is getting a big Season 2 launch after the Super Bowl on Feb. 5 and will air Mondays 8-10 PM. Milian was most recently seen in the TV movie The Christmas Cupid and in a guest stint on CSI. She also recurs as the voice of Esther on Family Guy.

Seems like an unnecessary move for a second-rate “talent” show. Can’t wait until the networks drop their affection for this format (that may take a very long time).
I thought Alison Haislip did a great job and not sure why they did it. Makes me even less likely to watch the show.
Not the first time NBC passed dumped someone for no apparent reason.
They may not have dumped her, she may have left. I would not use it for a reason to stop watching, tho. I liked the music…
I agree. I won’t stop watching because Alison wasn’t my reason for watching the show. It was the singers 1st, coaches 2nd, Carson 3rd.
It makes PERFECT sense. Haislip is a no-name nobody. Christina Milian is somebody they can introduce as “A Grammy-Nominated Movie Star” or something along those hyperbolic lines.
Alison was awesome…she was fun and totally poised and in control when Carson threw to her backstage. Unnecessary move imo.
I thought the plan was to replace the pretty and competent but relatively unknown correspondent for a celebrity?

I’m out then. Allison Haislip a least has a personality and a heart about her, and is an eager and hard working young lady. Since NBC took over G4 it seems like they’ve been unusually nasty in trying to get her out the door.
Christina just divorced her husband and is known more for being the President’s Choice generic fourth-rate Rihanna clone and probably doesn’t know what tweeting is. Stupid move by NBC to give yet another job to yet another ‘artist’ we just want to go away.

Agree. Alison was great. It’s sad to see such a great host go. Oh well, I guess they can’t all have widespread recognition like Christine Milan.

I watched the The Voice last season by accident and fell in love it with it. The only thing lacking for me was that backstage host. I am really excited that they now have Christia Milian. She is pretty, smart, and talented woman. They couldn’t have picked someone better. I hope America falls in love with her and we get to see her more!
I have nothing against Alison, but am glad that they’re bringing in Christina Milian to give the backstage correspondent more involvement and umph, and to involve social media as well. I think it’s a good fit and am looking forward to seeing her in their upcoming season.
there’s only one Xtina, and that’s probably why Ms. Milian couldn’t be host…
Honestly I always wondered why Alison was on the Voice… Christina is more fitting as she is a singer and has a distinct voice in her R&B field, I’m sure she’ll do Great, don’t stop watching the show only because Alison left, the show is about raw talent, not a correspondent

Christina is the perfect choice I watch last season of the voice and dont even. Remember. Alison. But. Christina . Is sexier. And she can sing..and has a great speaking voice I notices her is what I’m saying. And she has beautiful voice .. s That’s what the show is about. The sexy up the show. The next to go is Carson . .or Blake. .
And another thing. Christina will. Be around for while. She draws in a whole lot of viewers. Alison could never get. Come on. It Christina mulian. She hott. And she ‘ll get better in time . You’ll see her hosting everything now. . When I saw she a hostess . That was plus. .
