BREAKING: While Clint Eastwood was expected to follow directing J Edgar by directing A Star Is Born with Beyonce, her pregnancy has put that project off. Instead, I hear he’s seriously looking at starring in Trouble With The Curve, a project at Warner Bros that will mark the feature directorial debut of his Malpaso partner Robert Lorenz. The Randy Brown-scripted film is about an aging baseball scout, who’s losing his sight, and heads on a last road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to scout a hotshot prospect. They will lock Eastwood and Lorenz’s deals before setting an actress to play the daughter. Malpaso will produce.
Aside from being Eastwood’s longtime business partner, Lorenz has been assistant director on many of Eastwood’s films, including Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River and Blood Work.

Randy Brown is a fine writer and this is a terrific script. It’s the kind of role that Clint wins an Oscar for.
Gerard, have you read the script? Can you tell us a bit more about it? What makes it so terrific? Why do you think Clint Eastwood will win an Oscar for it? I don’t want to know anything too spoilerish about it, but is there more than meets the eye to this project? I dislike baseball. How much does baseball feature into the film?
Sounds good.
YES! Harrison Ford could definitely take a cue from this fellow legend.
Bring it on, Clint! You’re timeless!
I’m kind of surprised that this article doesn’t mention this would be the first movie Clint stars in but doesn’t direct since In the Line of Fire back in 1993!
Wasn’t Gran Torino made since 1993..Not being a no it all seriously..I LOVE Clint Eastwood. I have watched every movie since I was really little
)) Go Clint, I will be waiting for this one to hit the theatres
he directed that
Rob will do a brilliant job!
I am pretty sure this will be a good film…. experience usually means good work just need a good actress to play the daughter
Will just be good to see Clint back in front of the camera and not behind it. Absolute legend!!!
Put this man on Mt. Rushmore
Man, I’m glad he didn’t follow thru on his threat to retire from acting.
Awesome. Love you Clint, but I don’t think we need another “Star is Born,” especially starring Beyonce. Every version has gotten progressively worse since the original.
Whenever it’s Clint before the camera and a Malpaso employee behind it, Clint is the de facto director. Every damn time. Just ask Richard Tuggle, James Fargo and Buddy Van Horn.
Eastwood has made some terrific movies but he is VERY hard to direct and I wish Mr. Lorenz best of luck in the attempt.
Clint Eastwood, the renowned director, star, musician, iconic legend in his life time, etc. has charmed our lifes with his movie projects for years and years. Oh, and I forgat, as a owner of couple of restaurants in Carmel, California as well.
In seing him in various places locally in the Monterey Peninsula he speaks very softly, is charming to ladies and all around nice man. There is something about his demeaner, that draws the people to him, only he is very carefull in allowing himself to get too familier with strangers.
Clint’s beautyfull wife, Dina Ruiz, is very popular in her own right as a local, sometimes newswoman in our local TV. They make a nice couple and we are glad to have them to be living here locally.
Angelina Jolie should play his daughter
Any film featuring Clint has got to be a good thing. As long as it doesn’t star Sondra Locke – I’m there!
This makes me so happy,,,, another Clint acting role,, and with him not Directing he can concentrate on giving a Oscar winning performance,,, Now im happy Beyonce got preggers and A STAR IS BORN posponted,,,
YOU CAN REST ASSURED IT WILL BE GREAT WITH CLINT AS THE MAIN ACTOR.WHAT WE ALL NEED NOW IS SOME REAL ACTING AND NO ONE DOES IT BETTER. WISH YOU ALL THE BEST FOR YEARS TO COME. MAKE MY DAY!
I am glad to see Mr Eastwood is back on the Silver screen again ! I hope he finally gets the academy award for BEST ACTOR for this project “Trouble with the Curve” he has a “presence” that I have never seen in anyone else on this planet. He draws people to listen, learn and respect ever interview or appearance he makes ! So I guess if I ever had the opportunity to meet him I would be “the first cab off the rank” (Hope he comes to Auckland New Zealand oneday !)
