On the heels of a big ratings rebound last night, the CW’s new drama series Ringer has been given a full-season order. After a decent start, the Sarah Michelle Gellar-starring mystery kept sliding against original competition on the major broadcast networks until it spiked 33% in the adults 18-49 (0.8) and adults 18-34 demographics and 15% in viewers (1.7 million) last night with an episode featuring the demise of a supporting character. Will we see more people being whacked on Ringer in the following weeks to keep the ratings up? Originally developed for CBS, Ringer was created by Nicole Snyder and Eric Charmelo, who co-executive produce. CBS TV Studios and Warner Bros TV are producing in association with ABC TV Studios and Brillstein Entertainment, with Pam Veasey, Jon Liebman and JoAnne Colonna executive producing.

Embarassingly enough I actually “whooped” outloud at work when I read this headline
.
Great news for a show that IMO continues to be more invented and fascinating with each continuing episode!
No “New Girl” last night helped as well me thinks…
New Girl aired against it before.
Glad to hear it. Definitely not a perfect show but I do enjoy the soapy noir feel and the surprises each week. And Gellar is good in the role.
I’m so excited to hear this. I think is one of the best shows the CW has developed. Last nights episode was actually pretty brilliant. Completely shocked at the storyline!
This is great news! I had no doubt that it would be picked up for a full season. It’s one of the best new shows out right now. And I applaud the writers for taking their time.
Not every show has to be completely in your face. ‘Ringer’ continues to shine with each new episode. I can only imagine what the finale will bring!
Glad to hear
I am THRILLED to hear this. This show is great, and I am obsessed with it.
Calling it “inventive” or “fascinating” is a stretch, but it’s definitely improving. These last 2 eps have been a giant step up in quality.
Great! I’m loving this show!
it’s garbage.
What are you watching?
Happy to hear it after watching last nights episode. Here’s to hoping they have more of the daughter Juliet in the series and less of the friend Gemma.
One of my favorite new shows… inventive plotting and wonderfully unexpected twists. There is little expected or cheesy about this show (except the boat green screen in pilot and Professors ongoing torture…) End to last night’s show is ridiculously dramatic… I CANNOT wait for next week…
Yay!! I’m really liking the show… wish I didn’t have to wait a week for a new ep.
I enjoy the hell out of this show. It’s something that when I heard about it I thought “I wish I would have come up with that. And it’s lived up to the noirish fun it can be.
Congrats producers, writers and actors.
The last two episodes have been vast improvements over the first few episodes. I wonder if it has anything to do with SMG becoming a prod starting with these episodes…
she has been since the pilot.
That, or because the fabulous Billy Miller had a guest star that night. Love him.
this show is so lame
Yes! I’m so happy, I really like this show and it keeps getting better. Now, I only need ABC to pick up Revenge and Suburgatory and I’ll be officially over the moon!
This was my favorite pilot script last season and has turned into my favorite new drama by far this season. No other show has kept me guessing every step of the way and keeps you asking for more at the end of each episode. Kudos to the CW for finally growing up from their normal teen/early 20′s fare and getting behind this show. Keep the drama coming!
I squealed when I read this. Woohoo! So glad.
First episode showed promise. The second was one of the worst eps of tv i’ve even seen. No dramatic drive, mystery whatsoever. The whole ep revolved around SMG character trying to hide a dead body. Beyond boring and absolutely zero tension. Might check out a few more eps now after reading some of the above comments now. Big SMG fan but that could be put down to an almost decade long withdrawal from Buff.
Best new drama on TV this fall. Nice work CW! Congrats to all.
Sophisticated Soap.
Intellectually Enticing.
Props to the CW.
Could CBS be the jealous Sibling now for passing?
TWISTS! I love this show so much for all its unexpected twists popping up. Loved that red head blackmailing whiny white woman, but her clobbering came as such an out of nowhere twist I actually shouted “uh-uh!” at the tv. Doin’ it!
Judging from the end of this week’s episode(Sam), I don’t think anyone has to worry about seeing much more of Gemma!
