Another major carriage dispute threatens to pull Fox’s cable networks from DirecTV systems on November 1. The affected networks include FX (including its hit Sons Of Anarchy and hot newcomer American Horror Story), National Geographic Channel, Speed, Fuel TV, Fox Soccer, Fox Movie Channel, Fox Deportes, and the 19 Fox regional sports networks. Fox Networks’ previous carriage agreement with DirecTV expired on September 30. After extending the talks, no progress was made, leading to a standoff between the two sides that may lead to the blackout. Exactly a year ago, the same networks went dark on DirecTV’s rival satcaster Dish Network before the two sides finally reached a new agreement. Like in previous carriage fights, both sides released dueling statements and launched competing websites — KeepMyNets.com (Fox) and OurPromiseToYou.com (DirecTV). In its statement, DirecTV claims that Fox is seeking a 40% license-fee increase. Here are the two statements:
FOX NETWORKS: Despite Fox Networks’ offer of an extension during our ongoing negotiations, DirecTV has informed us and their customers that unless we agree to their demands, they “will suspend our networks on November 1.”
DirecTV sent us a proposal on Tuesday afternoon. They have given us no chance to respond before taking an unnecessarily aggressive posture and going public. It is disappointing that they have chosen bad faith tactics over meaningful negotiation.
We have proposed to keep the Fox Networks on DirecTV for the same price, and on the same terms as they are currently carried while we attempt to work out a fair agreement. Unfortunately, DirecTV has decided that unless they get their way, they are going to pull the plug on their customers November 1.
DIRECTV CEO MIKE WHITE: DirecTV’s agreement with News Corp./Fox for some of their national cable networks and regional Fox Sports networks has expired.
News Corp. has demanded that DirecTV customers pay nearly 40% more for the same channels they already receive. If a new deal is not reached, we will be forced to suspend the channels as early as Nov.1.

I wish all channels were $.50 each and I could just pick the ones I wanted.
They could offer channels together on special, or by category, but we don’t watch 1/3 of what we have. We do however watch FX and will be disappointed if it goes dark.
DirecTv-you offer new customers nfl ticket for free if they sign up, plus awesome deals for internet, but I can’t watch my sons of anarchy???? You drop FX, and I drop you!!!! So sick of your nasty so called “customer service” representatives anyways!!!!!
I dropped all subscription TV a few months ago.. I get the free-air HD stuff.. I do not miss it all that much, I can get what I do miss on Hulu or directly from the websites of the channels.. So I am saving the 50-80 bucks a month Directv is or for that matter any other sat or cable provider. I watch my sports at the local sports bar, have some food, chill and watch my games.. Much happier and one less bill I have to pay..

I had DISH last year & this happened — and now that I’ve gotten Direct TV it’s happening again? Does this mean the bill will go down since you are in a dispute over their charges?
Are you effing kidding me?! I guess I was right, Direct tv is the dumbest, most scandal filled peice of crap network in the entire satellite industry! I hope you peices of crap, low life, smug, arrogant bastards are happy with the stupid disgusting decision you made!!! PREPARE TO GO BANKRUPT!!! IDIOTS!!!! I hate you!!! I will spread the word like hookers spread STD’s! You have angered me to no end, but now, this is the worst you have ever done to date. LOSERS!!!
I need my SONS OF ANARCHY fix!!!!!!!! What I dont get is I pay so much for my directv and I do watch or use most of the channels listed that they want to pull, and they are saying that they want to pull these channels because they want more money for the networks so they want more of my money and more of the networks money. How does that even work out? I am the one that is getting screwed and has nothing to do about it but change compnys and I this loose. How is that fair? Realize who you are suppose to be entertaining and providing the service to and for, the CUSTOMER!!!!!!
FX has the best shows on TV. This household wil be getting rid of directv if they get rid of that network.
I’ll drop Direct TV because it sucks and seriously not worth the $100 a month. Too many internet stations and Direct can keep it’s kids stupid shows, the stupid radio stations…and the religious stations… oh wait.. that only leaves a few stations that people actually like! Bye Bye Direct!
If I miss a single episode of soa or loose speed network I’m going back to cable or going to dish
You need to die. Probably some fat weirdo that only watches anime porn. Get rid of espn? Are you human? Die.
If they pull FX They will lose my entire familys business and my family is H U G E.
Grrrrrrrrrr
Forgot to add that we ALL love Sons of Anarchy- THAT is the ONLY draw.
Oh course this has to happen to me now. After I’m totally hooked on American Horror Story on FX. If my channel goes black I’m goin to be one mad mf’er!
I have been a loyal customer for 18 years I deal with you giving new cust. Better ( H D ) chanels free but if I loose FX on nov 1 you loose me nov 2 care to try me and the thousands of other subscribers that watch SOA and NASCAR
If I lose FX SPEED and NGC I will end my Directv.
Not all of us who watch are families with kids. Some of us enjoy our mild sex and violence. If fx goes, me and my wallet will follow.
change anything and i will say see ya!!!!!!!
DOES ANY ONE HAVE THE DISH PHONE NUMBER?
I would personally like to see DirectV charge you based on what channels you watch, instead of charge you for a jillion you do not watch, 10 you do watch, and then try to take half of those away but still charge you the same thing. They are getting ridiculously high for the same reruns over and over. With that many channels we still cannot find anything to watch that we haven’t already seen. How is Dishnetwork, everybody? Same old same old?
I say keep FOX, and get rid of NBC<CBS<ABCIMAN, and all those stupid sit com programs. It is beyond comprehension how anyone
can sit and watch that garbage.
Roger
DirecTV,
Long time subscriber who has deleted FOX News channels from “My Channels” over and over it is time for DirecTV to do the same. Delete FOX News channels from “Our Channels” once and for all.
Thank You,
All of Us.
Rupert won’t be happy until he’s completely senile.
I cant believe this is happening to Directv. We pay high money
for our channels, but stay with your company. We watch fox,fx,nat.
geo.,speed and more. We lose the channels, you lose another customer.
If I lose FX directv loses me all of my favorite shows are on FX and if I don’t have this channel I don’t need service!

* I don’t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It’s a depression. Everybody’s out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel’s worth, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there’s nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there’s no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that’s the way it’s supposed to be! We know things are bad – worse than bad, They’re crazy! It’s like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don’t go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, ‘Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won’t say anything. Just leave us alone!’ Well, I’m not gonna leave you alone! I want you to get MAD! I don’t want you to protest. I don’t want you to riot – I don’t want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write. I don’t know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you’ve got to get mad! You’ve got to say, “I’m a human being, goddammit! My life has value!” So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now, and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell: “”’I'm as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”’” I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell – ‘I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Things have got to change. But first, you’ve gotta get mad!… You’ve got to say, ‘I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Then we’ll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: ”’I'm as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”’
**from the movie Network” how bout we all just cancel ALL tv services and see what happens?
