Here is the first teaser for A&E Network’ upcoming Stephen King’s Bag of Bones, a two-night, four-hour mini-series starring Pierce Brosnan. The teaser for the mini will debut during the second season premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead on Sunday. Based on King’s bestselling novel, the Sony TV-produced project co-stars Annabeth Gish and Melissa George. Mick Garris directed from a script by Matt Venne.

Remember when miniseries ran over several nights and were actually “mini” series? A 4 hour movie on 2 nights is just a long movie.
Agreed! Remember the good old days of brilliant or tawdry fun mini-series like Roots, Winds of War, Jackie Collins’ Lucky, etc.?
Also, why do so many horror productions continue to use ghosts with freaky movements? It’s played out. It’s no longer novel; it’s like fast running zombies or vampires who roar like cougars. Been there done that. Next!
Golly, scary. *yawn*
Yes, I miss the days of Scruples and Lace. (I’m being serious!)
I’m down.
I love King. Can’t wait to see this. Now I got to run find my book and read it. lol
Yup, I am about to settle in with a warm comforter and a perfect day for a re-read!
I can’t wait for this to come to TV, its about time I say! I would rather see this into a 4 hour TV show, than a 1-1/2 hour movie at the theater, this way there is nothing left out of the book. If people don’t like, they don’t have to watch, simple as that.
Mick Garris DOES NOT know how to adapt Stephen King, there I said it. Every single one of his hoaky-as-hell movies are an affront to the books they are based on. I was excited about Bag of Bones until I saw the footage and realized it’s the same cheap looking corpse make up and horribly over-glossy look of the thing. Hey Mick, go to film school, pick up a REAL camera, or just go away.
I am a huge Stephen King fan and I hate it when cheesy, misrepresenting mini-series are made out of them. Mick Garris and his “movies” are the reason why The Dark Tower isn’t being made. Studios look at those adaptations and wince.
Oh well. At least there’s the Walking Dead.
If this is the teaser, I’m worried already. What does a little girl in the lake have to do with the story? Did the screenwriters even take time to read the book? They do know that Sara Tidwell and her family were black Americans?
Remember the little girl who’s father burned the town and took her out into the water? The main character could see her drown but he couldn’t stop it.
Pierce Brosnan as Mike Noonan? He’s supposed be 40, not pushing 60. They’ll have to slap on a ton of makeup to pull that off….
I was disappointed in this movie – it just didn’t keep my attention. I didn’t read the book so had no idea about the story plot which, at times, was hard to follow. After about an hour, I turned off the TV and am not sure I’ll give it another try. Pierce Brosnan didn’t seem to fit the lead character role and when he called a gentleman in the restaurant “old timer” I had to laugh…he didn’t seem that much older AND Pierce’s attempts at being romantic with the ladies was a little far fetched and awkward – his acting efforts seemed to lack a little something, too. I don’t think it was the right role for him and I don’t think he looks like a writer either much less a jogger. (Sorry, Pierce.) Another actor might have kept my attention and made the story line more exciting, such as Tim Matheson, Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon, etc.
I would hope that the ending will have some clue as to whether or not the “little girl” can be adopted by Mike…
Face it people, there’s NEVER been a movie adaptation of a book that was successful in translating the true feel of the story…. I love reading King’s books, and I love movies. You either love it or leave it alone. Josh Duhamel would make a much better Mike Noonan in my opinion. King’s writing taught me that sometimes things don’t fit into a neat little box, everything doesn’t have an explanation or make sense, and sometimes you just never know….
josh duhamel can play absolutely anyone and ill love watching it!! i might be a dork but i still love the weird movements they ghosts make! i find it very creepy. i live for “scary” and its been so very long since somethings really scared the crap out of me! please let this scare me!!!
and please someone make a good zombie movie soon!! i LOVE walking dead! it has fulfilled my zombie cravings for now but i havent seen a decent scary zombie flick since dawn of the dead! i cant stand the corny ones..zombieland was funny but i want scary dang it!!! so scare me!
Are they ever going to make a movie from his book, “The Cell?”
who is the origional singer to sara tidwells music from the movie..I looked up sara tidwell…no such jazz musician…and i love her music in the movie
