EXCLUSIVE: Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is looking to front his own comedy series next. Durst has signed his first ever TV deal with CBS and CBS TV Studios. Under the pact, he has partnered with CBS TV Studios-based producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum on a half-hour comedy project, which he will star in and produce. The untitled comedy, sometimes referred to as Douchebag, has received a script commitment. It centers around a rock legend looking for balance between his high profile lifestyle and trying to raise a family. It will be written by Matthew Carlson (Mr. Sunshine) who will executive produce with the Tannenbaums. The idea was brought to the Tannenbaum Co. by Durst’s manager/producer John Schneider who will serve as a non-writing producer. Schneider is already in business with the Tannenbaums, CBS Studios and CBS. Last season, he and his brother, actor Rob Schneider, developed a family comedy with the same auspices, which was inspired by Rob Schneider’s real-life experiences. The project recently received a midseason series order by CBS. On the TV side, Durst’s only previous credits were arcs on NBC’s limited series Revelations and Fox’s House. In features, he directed The Education of Charlie Banks and The Longshots.

Fred Durst doesn’t get enough credit. Who cares if he’s not the biggest thing in the world right now? He’s got personality. He’s got straight-up ‘I don’t give one’ swag. He’s got skills to be able to have achieved what he has and even come back with an awesome new album with the rest of Bizkit and do something so different like this.

Wow you guys are brutal! I will be the only one to stick up for Fred but Limp Bizkit is awesome, can’t wait for the US tour and love all of Fred’s work but am sadly one of the few but that is just fine with me…..Limp Bizkit is still the most hated band in the world! Love the haters!!!!

Fred Durst should never be allowed to live down Woodstock 99. When he took the stage, with an out of control crowd where violence and rape were taping place, he was asked to try and get the crowd to calm down. Although he can’t be held responsible for the shape of the crowd when he got there, Durst did the opposite of what any human of any moral caliber would do: he incited the crowd and things got much worse from there. Chose to play a gem of a song called “Break Stuff.” Well, they did. People got badly hurt. F*ck Fred Durst. Douchebag, indeed. Your time was up long ago.

As usual all negative comments even before you have seen the show. I suppose you have issues, and cant fight them. Well keep talking, but when the show starts, there will be satisfied people also, maybe more satisfied people than u think. But u if u wanna be modern, wait for a show coming from Gaga or Rhianna, douchebags, I am betting on Fred Durst!
