Uh-Oh: ‘Grimm’ & ‘Chuck’ Premieres May Face Game 7 Of The World Series
It was a possibility that arose when Game 6 of the World series was postponed because of bad weather, shifting the schedule for the remaining two games by a day. Still, given the fact that no World Series had gone to seven games in nine years, the odds were against baseball interfering with the tomorrow’s premiere of NBC’s new series Grimm.
But the Cardinals’ stunning 11th-inning victory tonight was bad news for NBC, which will have the series premiere of Grimm and the final season premiere of Chuck go against MLB’s championship game. Can’t NBC catch a break once this fall?!
TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

who cares chuck is over, Grimm is on Friday with low expectations
nothing scripted can compete with this Series anyway, so don’t sweat it, Peacock.
Grimm was always going to bomb, but at least now NBC has something to blame it on.
Definitely sucks. It doesn’t matter for Chuck, but it’s a blow to Grimm.
NBC can always repeat both on Saturday and maybe air Grimm (if it cares enough about the show to do so) after Sunday Night Football on the west coast. They did the same with The Event last year I believe to get the extra eyeballs.
The only thing more boring than watching baseball would be watching the incredibly inept and unoriginal Grimm. Now at least everyone involved will have a scape goat so they can keep their ‘creative’ jobs and assault the public with more of the same.
Suffering from low T, Dan? This is the best World Series I’ve ever seen! It’s been like a video game.
Can’t wait!
Last night’s game was far more entertaining then anything Hollywood has recently put out. Que up Fox tonight. Too bad it will be over either way.
Grimm had a great pilot to watch. Wonder how much was butchered by the network. Sorry Dan, guess they passed on your pilot spec, huh?
I was one of those people planning to see Grimm but this world series has been so captivating that there’s no way I’m going to miss game 7… I would say I’d TiVo Grimm but my box is already full…
After the massive ratings for Once Upon A Time on ABC, why is NBC still premiering this show on Friday?
Go Cards!!!!! Put another nail in Texas and NBC!
Yes, I’d say The Ranger’s chances are pretty Grimm! GO CARDS!!!
It’s a shame. I checked out their “sneak peek” of the Grimm pilot online and really liked it. Too bad they won’t push it back a week to give it a chance. Then again putting it up on a night against a bunch of other genre shows isn’t really giving it a chance anyway.
This is Halloween weekend. The 18-34 crowd that would’ve been interested in ‘Grimm’ is going to be out at costume parties, going to pub crawls, seeing a scary movie… none of them are thinking “Wow, the Friday before Halloween. This is the perfect night to sit at home and wait for a TV show to come on!”
NBC screwed up this decision months ago and a World Series with an average viewership age ~55 isn’t going to steal audience from ‘Grimm.’
NBC already blew it programming Grimm against Fringe. Don’t they realize there might be genre fans who might be interested in both? At least they the Fringe fans might tune in tonight even if they don’t watch it next week.
,If its such a big deal just pre-empt your premiers and push em back a week. If NBC sold add space based on an expectation of certain numbers they can’t reach because of baseball now theyll have to buy it back anyway. Force majeur your way out of this.
Really – does anybody at NBC have half a brain? Why air Grimm on a Friday night? Most of their target audience are doing other things. I don’t get the decisions that NBC has been making lately. If I didn’t know better, I would say that NBC executives are spies working for the other networks.
It almost makes me (gulp!) miss Jeff Zucker. Almost.
Had I been running NBC’s programming, I would have yanked the premieres of “Grimm” and “Chuck” from tonight’s (Octoebr 28th) schedule.
Sort of moot. Supernatural was on against both Fringe and Grimm. Everyone will go onto the internet and either watch the shows on the networks or snag them via the usual way.
