Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment have posted the first teaser trailer for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, the third film by Chris Meledandri’s Universal-based family film division. Meledandri cultivated a relationship with Audrey Geisel, the widow of Theodor Geisel, when he ran Fox Animation and they turned Horton Hears a Who into an animated film. Dr Seuss’ The Lorax, featuring Danny DeVito as the voice of the title character, will be released March 2, 2012.

Looks amazing.
Brilliant! Can’t wait! Chris Meledandri and his Illumination group have brought originality and funny back to animation.
Wow. Home run. Illumination looks 3 for 3.
Looks pretty awesome. I really liked Despicable Me so ill probably see this one in 3D. Hope this opens big for Universal
What can you say? It’ll be a massive hit and no child who sees it will ever be able to sit through the pace and sadness and purity of that beautiful book again.
It looks visually beautiful but would it have killed them to do some original music? Don’t you think a Dr. Seuss movie at least deserves that?
Can you give an example of a trailer that has had original music on it 5 months before its release? This far out the movie would still be in the edit room and the score for the film itself would not be done yet. Even if they were to get someone to write a song for the feature that would most likely still be in preliminary stages half a year out. Besides, I think that this piece of music is key to the success of the trailer not matter how many times it’s been heard before.
Inception.
This is truly wonderful.
Wow, I’m impressed. The quality of the animation is stunning. And I really like the edit of the trailer, it takes you nicely into the world.
What’s wrong with the original animated story? It’s beautiful and simplistic in it’s message about greed and the environment… why must we continue to ruin original works?
