The military should use it as a recruiting video. Have not seen a flick make war look so cool in a long time.
Yep, war is cool! Here’s to PTSD, neurological damage, lost limbs, paralysis, broken marriages, etc.!
I have much respect for members of the armed services. Just value their lives a little more than glorifying “war” itself.
The film was directed by the guys that do the military recruitment commercials. This is a feature length recruitment ad already. Still, looks cool.
s
I’m in!!
More Navy SEAL crap. Why does everyone want to suck SEAL butt? If they’re so elite and secretive, why are they always seeking so much publicity? They don’t even make decent grunts. Such stupid propaganda. Booooo. Not interested in this BS crap. It will absolutely die at the box office.
“Decent grunts?” They risk their lives and sadly, at times, die in the service of the country. They’re out there now protecting the country. And what are you doing, Scott? Sitting on your parent’s couch, Hot Pocket stains on your wife-beater shirt, playing CALL TO DUTY? You’re a pathetic excuse for an American.
I can honestly say that I have never wanted to slap anyone harder in my life.
This looks like a theatrical version of CBS’s short-lived series THE UNIT. I don’t think it has much hope at the box-office.
Damn, Shane Hurlbut’s killing it with those Canon 5Ds! I think film is dead.
some of you guys wouldnt make a pimple on a SEALs ass

Looks ok.
but coming out the same weekend as the Denzel action flick “Safe House?” Poor strategy Kavanaugh.
Looks cool to me, but would love some real stories though. I think it could get some butts in the seats if marketed correctly and at the right time. SEALS are hotttt! I’d rather see a film that pays respect to heros rather than glorify some self absorbed celebrity. Anything that shows off our brave military members makes me proud and feel good and that gets butts in the seats.
As for the snarky remark about SEALS seeking attention. These guys don’t go after attention… they preform amazing tasks and it’s get’s attention! I am going to bet that it was not the SEALS idea to do the film, but the idea of a creative mind or minds. Hell, at least it is original and not another remake or sequel. Jesus, I sware there are very few new original movies these days.
Now for the haters… envious and jealous much? These guys do in a day what most of you will never be able to do in your whole life. Oh, they also sacrifice and serve so that you can continue to be a FREE hater. Blamo!!!
Amen brother [sister?].
I am so thankful that these brave men stand post to do violence on my behalf.
Bless their hearts.
Fascist glorification…I can’t wait to see it.
Time to give America back some of its lost confidence after sucking it hard in Irak and Afghanistan.
Movie? Looks more like an extended commercial for a video game or a recruiting tool to be shown to high school kids. It’s this decades Top Gun without the volleyball scene, which is odd, because being gay in green is A-OK these days
Cool elements, but nothing to really hang your hat on.
Looks kick ass. However, didn’t they empty their pockets for this one?
Talking crap about a movie is one thing, but disrespecting men who put their lives on the line every day for YOU just makes you an a-hole. These guys sacrifice so much so you can sit on the internet and complain about movies? You may not like the movie, but these are real SEALs who really have to think about the possibility they could DIE at work! Come on, show a little respect.
1. Looks like a recruiting video. Which is fine, I guess. I think Top Gun does a better job.
2. Can’t we see this every night on the History/Discovery/Spike channel? (I especially like the Top Ranger shows, but I’m partial to the Army)
3. Wasn’t there a movie called “Navy Seals” and come to think of it, “GI Jane” that shows the same things?
If you kiss up to the military, they will let you play with all of their shiny things. I don’t think “Hurt Locker” had that luxury.
I’d be interested to know if there was co-financing by any facets of the military industrial complex. I’m guessing so
Also interesting, if you look up the word “valor” as it relates to the military, it was first re-introduced into the british lexicon (among many buzz words) as they were getting into the first World War. It has always been part of a proverbial dictionary of war propaganda.
let me put some facts in this discussion
is it a recruiting tool…….ya probably….considering only 20% of SEAL BUDS graduate the first six months
is it going to take me back to swift boat days in the delta when we inserted SEALS and extracted them…………….ya
is it going to do my ptsd any good………nah but ill see it anyways
watch the swcc boats in action……the swift boats were their granddaddy…………..only 40% made the grade
might it just be good intertainment?????ya probably
opinions are nice but facts are better
Chief of the Boat

aft gunner
PCF 40
did we and the SEALS kick butt………..you betcha
Full respect for the Seals. As a movie, I’ve seen it and can’t imagine it will do any good at the box office. No stars or well known big shot directors to draw people in. Not a big budget action flick, nor is it a gritty non fiction piece. Seals are badass, but they don’t make good actors. Seems it will fall through the cracks- though the inside core crowd will dig it.
