Here’s the second trailer for Walt Disney Pictures’ The Muppets, which stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper and the whole Muppet gang. Its release date is November 23. In this one they are pumping up the celebrity cameo angle, a staple of the past Muppets films.

Either the jokes don’t translate will for trailer montage or this movie is going to suck.
Just because he likes the franchise, doesn’t mean he should have written it. Love the guy, but they should have had a Pixar-quality writer/team on it. Even Forgetting Sarah Marshall, it did well, but it wasn’t a good movie. And I’m not just trying to be a jerk — I think half the reason BAD TEACHER did so well is because of his line reading of the LeBron joke in the commercials. Hilarious was he. But this looks like terrible writing.
Dude-
Comment very well put. I love Segal. I love the Muppets, but I don’t love this trailer. For some reason, these bits are NOT landing. I am now praying that it’s just this trailer, but with comedies, if the trailer isnt too funny then its not a good sign for the film. PLEASE BE A GOOD MOVIE!!
looks fun to me… i think segal is a little too obsessed with the past… but if it does well hopefully next one will be more like great muppet caper or manhataan… sort of new adventures vs lets bring the gang back together and put on a show
Manhataan wasn’t “let’s bring the gang back together and put on a show”?
Why is this being made? For the ever so lucrative 30 something hipster crowd? They are idiots. This will flop.
Because it’s not CGI?
FLOP!!!?? Boy, are you wrong! This movie is going to be the surprise hit of the year.
Saying something will be “the surprise hit of the year” is just as meaningless as saying “a cult hit in the making”.
FLOP? Are you kidding me WHY? Seriously, the Muppets are as popular as ever and this movie will do awesome numbers at the box office, considering it will also air during the holiday weekend. Watch the box office numbers after the end of next month and then come back and tell me if it was a flop or not? Definitely seeing this!
God, I hate those raggy, flea ridden, puppets. I heard from one crew member that they stink too!
Any Muppets fan would agree that this movie will be a GIANT PIECE OF SHIT.
Kudos Disney! You and your “dream team” of Lyle and Debbie have succeeded in DESTROYING a franchise.
lyle? who??
Who does Miss Piggy’s voice? It’s awful, it ruined it all for me. So flat, no resonance.
I just haven’t enjoyed the muppets much since Jim Henson died. Some ineffable quality is missing. I grieve.
One trailer is not an indicator of a film’s quality. My guess is they’re probably keeping the good stuff under wraps as much as possible. And think it’s wiser to have somebody who has a genuine affection for the Muppets write a Muppet movie than some idiot who’s trying to ‘update’ or ‘rebrand’ them.
About fifteen years ago or so my then three- and five-year old kids were watching Nickelodeon when the ad for whatever Muppet movie was being released at the time came on the screen.
Both kids turned to me when the commercial was over and said, “I don’t want to see that.” Kinda says it all about the Muppets (and they’re not more popular now than then).
Yeah, and the Simpsons used to be better, and SNL hasn’t been as good as it was during (insert years you were a teenager), and I remember when you could buy coke for a nickel…
