Katie Couric’s upcoming nationally syndicated talk show, Katie, has been cleared in over 60% of the country, according to distributor Disney-ABC Domestic Television. Katie, slated to launch in fall 2012, has been sold in 14 of the top 15 markets. Of course, the backbone of that are the eight ABC owned-and-operated stations, which picked up the show as part of Couric’s deal with Disney/ABC. The eight stations (in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh/Durham and Fresno) cover 22.5% of the country, including the top five markets. Additional clearances include stations from broadcast groups Allbritton Communications, Belo Corporation, Cox Media Group, Gannett Broadcasting, Hearst Television, LIN Broadcasting, McGraw-Hill, Scripps Howard Broadcasting and Young Broadcasting. The most recent Katie clearances include WFAA-TV Dallas, WCVB Boston, WSB Atlanta, WJLA Washington DC, WXYZ Detroit, KNXV Phoenix, KING Seattle and WFTS Tampa.

what this country needs is another LEFTY chat show. NOT
Then watch Fox News and stop your whining.
BTW, only in your universe is Couric a “lefty.”
This will be a fun and exciting show, covering all topics. The afternoon audience will love it.
Still won’t watch it if it if GENERAL HOSPITAL is cancelled…….
Still curious to see where the ABC O&O’s will be putting this show. It sounds like ABC will ax its last remaining soap, General Hospital, to run Katie.
No way do we need another “journalist” blabbing away the afternoon after the chew and the doctor. ABC will have no viewers during daytime. BORING!
What a coincidence; I’d cleared her from my memory years ago.
Looks awful. I second Crystal–we don’t need another daytime journalist blabbing away. And the pastel poster is horrendous.
Dear ABC: Please just add Katie to “The View” and end the torture of us the general public having to digest a Katie talk show. Yours truly, Barry
Wow. “The Jane Pauley Show, Mark II.” I’m impressed — especially if it lasts a whole season.
