That sucks
Awesome news. ALL HAIL MICHAEL BAY, ALL HAIL MICHAEL BAY, ALL HAIL MICHAEL BAY!
The man did it again. Now I’m waiting for Peter Travers and Roger Ebert to commit suicide. Then it’ll be the perfect day.
Well done, Michael Bay. Very well done!
Well that’s just depressing as all hell.
Oh dear. I wouldn’t of cared if it was a Pixar film, another Harry Potter, or hell even Jack Sparrow but the crappy crap crap Transformers? GROSS!
The all-time box office champs should be ranked by tickets sold, not dollars grossed.
That is outstanding! So deserving! Bring on number 4.
Way to go James Cameron, with the top two grossing films of all time. I wonder if Gone With the Wind tops Avatar when adjusted for inflation…
With the possible exception of Return of the King, none of those films can be descibed as being great or even very good. At least the highest grossers of yesteryear (original Star Wars, Jaws, ET) were actually really fantastic movies.
What an incredible shame, that such a piece of junk made so much money… it seems the average Joe becomes dumber and dumber with every passing year.
Expect AMERICAN IDOL the movie in a few years and it will land in the TOP 5 instantly… What a shame.
How depressing.
No accounting for taste, I guess.
Yeah and gas cost $4 a gallon earlier this year too.
Proof that there is no God?
Can we stop with the nonsense that box office gross means anything now? The only meaningful statistic is the number of tickets sold.
When adjusted for inflation, neither Titanic or Avatar (or Transformers) even make the top ten.
Adjusted for inflation, Avatar is the 14th highest grossing film of all time, Not even in the same ballpark as Gone With The Wind, Star Wars, or The Sound of Music. This list is essentionally meaningless, and I don’t understand why a site that is serious about industry news would even bother to publish it.
Yeah…it’s a damn shame.
start thinking philanthropy …
