MTV Casting Occupy Wall Street Protesters
You can’t accuse MTV of not mining the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protests for potential content. First came word that the network placed a Craigslist ad seeking protesters to audition for the next installment of The Real World. Now the network said it will use its Emmy-winning True Life documentary platform to air True Life: I’m Occupying Wall Street on Saturday, November 5 at 6 PM ET/PT. MTV said it embedded cameras with three people at the protests for a two-week period to “capture the day-to-day realities” of the protesters as the movement gains visibility — even among MTV’s target youth demos. Here’s a preview clip:

Boycott this shit.
Is this documentary about them cleaning up a park? Lol this is so stupid. And this makes their cause look so stupid. The park is a mess because they made it a mess, and now they have to clean it up. I was for this movement until I saw this video, and now I will reflect and possibly change my mind. They have no clear goals; I mean, draft a bill or come up with a policy they want to get passed. They compare this movement to the others around the world, but they don’t want to overthrow their “leader”. Hell, they all support Obama. They can’t overthrow a myriad of businesses and corporations, all they can do is get bills and policies passed. Rally up the people behind a cause, not behind a bunch of unstructured wants.
And don’t complain about cleaning up the park when you’re the ones who made the mess in the first place! I’m a very liberal democrat, but come on. And the cops need to be there because you guys are all just sitting around making a public place gross.
Great clip. Shows them engaged and communicating well. I support this and really cant understand anyone protesting their actions. Free speech and right to assembly. Period.
wow — it’s 100% white kids.
whiny entitled white NYU students, whining that the system has left them behind?
gimme a break.
Now this is The United States Of America at its BEST.
Someone be sure to tell those kids, by being on that show, they’re making money for the following owner of Viacom. Let’s not forget what he makes….
CEO amassed $84.5 million in stock, salary and other benefits during Viacom’s fiscal year, which ended on Sept. 30. Included in the giant sum is a one-time stock award — $31.7 million — which is dependent on financial goals over the next five years and was part of his new agreement signed in April. The company’s three top executives — Dauman, chairman Sumner Redstone and COO Thomas Dooley — were paid $165 million in stock and other compensation
very good point.
Oooooo,snap! Sick burn, O’Really Factor!
These losers need to get their message out on one of the myriad media outlets that aren’t owned by a massive multinational conglomerate parent company!
Haha!
@Bobbyg,
Since when do Teabaggers get to be outraged at homogeneity? And FYI, do a little research — these protests are as multicultural as they come. The Koch brothers didn’t even have to bus in token seat-fillers. I know, crazy, right?
