In hindsight, launching the new incarnation of Mike Judge’s male-skewing Beavis And Butt-Head against Game 6 of the World Series was probably not such a good idea. But under the circumstances, the MTV show about two teen delinquents did well in its return after a 14-year hiatus. The new Beavis And Butt-Head posted a 2.6 rating in the persons 12-34 demographic and 3.3 million total viewers in its premiere at 10 PM. While far from the ratings heights of MTV’s mega-hit Jersey Shore, Beavis And Butt-Head did better than any recent scripted series premiere on the network. The show also attracted males to the female-skewing channel despite the competition for the World Series with a 3.4 males 12-34 rating to rank as MTV’s top series in the demo behind Jersey Shore. The Beavis And Butt-Head premiere was used to launch MTV’s other new animated series, Good Vibes, which held on to a little of its lead-in to post a so-so 1.4 persons 12-34 rating and 1.6 million viewers.

Beavis was pretty great. The boys are a little more quick-witted than before. Welcome back!
Haha yeah they are a bit more savvy.
Been a longtime fan for years and years and this was absolutely spot on. Loved it in every way. So stoked for more episodes.
Heh heh, this site has “wood” in the name.
Actually, Nellie , I think the only things that got affected by the World Series last night were all the hearing aid batteries that got worn down by the extended innings. The ratings skew heavily towards the 50+ demo. Young people just don’t follow the game that much anymore. I’m willing to bet that next week’s B & B will match this week’s ratings. Actually, I thought they would be higher, the ratings, that is.
I would venture to guess that most of the current crop of MTV viewers probably aren’t old enough, nor smart enough to understand Mike Judge’s humor.
Just me being snarky though…
I know right, “Beavis And Butthead” is some super sophisticated comedy. I like Mike Judge as much as the next guy (original B&B, office space, king of the hill, idiocracy, etc.) but his comedy is hardly difficult to understand
He is the genius mind behind “Ow, My Balls!”
Great episode. Loved it!
I was actually blown away by how much I enjoyed it. I was affraid that I may have outgrown them, but that wasn’t the case. Great start to the series. Hope they can keep it up.
It was awesome. I’ll definietley watch every week!
