New Line is zeroing in on the female lead for Burt Wonderstone, the Don Scardino-directed comedy that will star Steve Carell and Jim Carrey as rival magicians on 
the Las Vegas strip. The short list for the female lead right now is Olivia Wilde, Michelle Monaghan, Judy Greer, Sarah Silverman and Jessica Biel, I’m told.

If the female part is supposed to be invisible they should get Olivia Wilde or Jessica Biel, they are as useful to movies as a very pretty lamp.

MOnaghan is the less awful choice, but still awful.

How in the world do these 5 women compete for the same role? Specially Greer and Silverman vs. the other three, of which only Michelle Monaghan has been a bit funny (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang).
It’s time for Greer to get out of the best friend role, give it to her. She deserves it. Silverman is not an actress, her show was enough indication.

People need to stop casting Wilde in every damn thing, even the people that don’t mind her are getting sick of her.
Why are studio shortlists now being made public? Is it to reinforce the impression that artists are interchangeable, and therefore have little intrinsic value to a picture?
I have read the script. Wow. I know people need to work, but any of these ladies should be happy NOT to get this part.
Judy Greer has a significant, impressive role in The Descendants, I’d be surprised if she doesn’t start getting bigger gigs off the back of that.
Judy Greer is by far the best choice. If the female lead requires sharp comedic timing and not just the girl who props the men up for their jokes – it needs to be Greer. watch her in the indie Barry Munday: lead role, fucking hilarious.
Unfortunately, the only exposure Judy Greer is getting nowadays is on that awful and unfunny “Two and a Half Men”. That lack of comedy isn’t doing her any good for attaining comedic roles.
Too bad that ABC bailed on “Miss Guided” a few years ago. That would have been a hit and made her a star if they gave it half a chance.
How does Jessica Biel keep getting work?!
I am so confused about that like you!!!! But it could be worse, Diane Kruger could have been on this list too. Whenever Biel is mentioned so is she.
