EXCLUSIVE: Filming of Cinemax’s upcoming series Transporter has been temporary suspended after the series star, Chris Vance was injured while shooting an action sequence. I hear no return has been set and the hiatus is expected to last at least 2 weeks. “We want to ensure Chris’ return to peak physical condition before putting him back in front of the camera to continue shooting this fast-paced, action-packed series,” executive producer/showrunner Steve Shill said. Transporter had been shooting in Toronto, with production on the series’ 12-epiosde order slated to continue through November. The series underwent a change at the helm in August when executive producers/original showrunners Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie left over creative differences. Shill then stepped in as the new showrunner. Based on Luc Besson’s Transporter film franchise, the series stars Chris Vance as professional transporter Frank Martin, who can always be counted on to get the job done — discreetly.

This is the second injury on a production in Toronto in a weeK. Maybe cheaper is not safer. Bring these productions back to Hollywood where the journey prosessionals are.
Easy there, tiger. We are just as skilled and professional as any crew anywhere. Accidents happen. In LA, in Toronto, in Budapest.
Maybe they go to Canada to get away from ego,s .Hollywood isnt the only place to film ,just one of the first
Can always call statham or vinny Jones
Vance is a pro. He’ll bounce back.
Hmm so the lead does his own stunts, and everyone gets two weeks off w/o pay, plus a heated up post sked….nothing wrong with this picture..
It is kind of hard to film a series where the star is in 90% of the scenes without the actor… Just saying.
Exactly — something sounds off. I can’t remember ever hearing about a two week TV series shutdown over an injury. Anyone ever know if this has happened before? I seem to recall Jennifer Garner got hurt once on Alias — but I think they just kept rolling right along, didn’t they? This really does seem kinda odd. Like there’s more to the story.
Vance is a great guy and utmost professional. What an unfortunate circumstance. If any one will bounce back, he will. Good guy to have as your leading man.
Injury because… Toronto. Cutting corners gets people hurt.
(And for the record, Michael Bay was nowhere in Canada at the time.)
But with the exchange rate, he should be back in 12 days
Yeah, cuz nothing ever goes wrong in California.
He does not do hos own stunts, there’s a difference between a stunt and an action sequence
The Canada curse.
Good chance this keeps going with Daniel Fathers.
To Jim Dyer. Why should an european production (Lagadere&RTL) go back to Hollywood? Cinemax secured broadcasting rights via a presales deal.
Sorry the star hd to get injured, but that is an ever-present danger if stars do their own stunts.
But Transporter is a show no one is asking for. The films should suffice.
Recurring Daniel Fathers could pick up the slack, don’t you think?
You sir, are an asshole.
Love the film franchise.
Love the Jason Statham transporter films. Not to happy bout the tv series. I hope it doesnt go through or try and get Jason to play Frank Martin. Jason Statham is the only person that can pull off Frank Martin. In my eyes Jason Statham is Frank Martin. Chris Vance isnt the right person for the job. He’s too prissy.
Worked with Chris on this series. He’s doing a fantastic job as Frank. Hopefully he recovers quickly and that he is well.
