Another Friday with mostly minor adjustments of a tenth of a 18-49 rating. CBS’ 10 PM drama Blue Bloods (1.7/5 in adults 18-49, 10.9 million viewers) posted the biggest drop from last week — two tenths in 18-49. It was still the highest-rated and most-watched program of the night, tied in 18-49 with another CBS drama, veteran CSI: NY (1.7/5, 10 million). The third CBS drama of the night, rookie A Gifted Man (1.3/5, 7.8 million), was up a tenth in the demo after being stuck at a 1.2 for the past two weeks. CBS (1.6/5, 9.6) once again won the night in 18-49. Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares (1.4/5, 3.6 million) was down a tenth from last week’s fast national 18-49 rating (two tenths from the final). Fringe (1.2/4, 3.1 million) was down a tenth. Fox (1.3/4, 3.7 million) finished second for the night in 18-49, tied with Univision.
It was a pretty encouraging sampling for the premiere two episodes of ABC’s Last Man Standing, which drew a 1.3/5, 4.9 million and a 1.4, 4.9 million from 8-9 PM, with the second episode tying Kitchen Nightmares as the third-highest-rated program of the night in 18-49. The Last Man Standing rerun also attracted larger audiences than any non-CBS program last night. As a commenter smartly pointed out, this bodes well for ABC topper Paul Lee’s idea to bring back ABC’s TGIF Friday family comedy block. Following a Modern Family (1.3/4, 3.7 million) repeat, which also did very well, and a Suburgatory (1.1/3, 3.1 million) rerun, ABC aired 20/20 (1.2/4, 4.7 million), up an tenth in the demo from last week. Also up a tenth was NBC’s Dateline (1.5/5).

I love Suburgatory. It’s like Gilmore Girls meets Mean Girls meets Juno meets Edward Scissorhands. But, that is okay because the show is very well written and has great dialogue. Jane Levy gives a great performance.
Good news for ABCs plan to bring back TGIF.
Couldn’t agree with you more. It was easy programming to watch.

Good News from deadline
Who says they have a plan.
yes! bring back TGIFriday….and don’t put “Last man Standing” anywhere near it!. Terible, terrible show. actually embarassing. Was painful to watch since a fan of Tim Allen. But it wasn’t funny!..
an important word if you’re doing a comedy.FUNNY! Give me “8 Simple Rules”…so miss that type of show…Paul Lee doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing. are you listening Anne Sweeny
“8 Simple Rules”??? Really, that’s the type of show you want more of?
I got lost on that too. 8 Simple Rules? I want to see more family comedies with each family member contributing just as much as the parents. Also more adolescent or teen mischief like the old TGIF sitcoms
Giving up on Last Man Standing already? Can you say la-who-za-her?
I say bring back TGIF…screw these reality shows like Shark Tank and such and focus on bringing back what worked for ABC in the past and this is just further proof in doing as such.
Why does Supernatural never get any love? Seven seasons, solid ratings (including DVR/TIVO, of course), and they’re like the bastard child nobody acknowledges.
Agreed.. I love Supernatural, Fringe and Stargate Universe… One of them is cancelled and the other two are barely noticed by people.
‘Fringe’ is excellent. Well written, acted and conceived. I heard FOX put it on Friday night to kill it but it found an audience after all.
More Matlock please!
Does anyone know how Nikita is doing since moving to Fridays?
TGIF will be a huge success if ABC can continue to land great comedies. Right now, comedy wise, they are on a tear. They’re just one sitcom away from having the best comedy lineup on tv with their Wednesday night block. And they’ve got what could be the biggest new hit of the year, Last Man Standing, opening up Tuesdays. Pulling another 5 million viewers and a 1.3 demo on Friday for the repeat episode is proof that the show could be an even bigger hit than Modern Family.
You are all idiots who liked Last Man the pilot Sucked! None of you have the balls to admit it.
