The team behind the 2008 Fox comedy Unhitched, writers Chris Pappas, Mike Bernier and Kevin Barnett and directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly, is reuniting for a new comedy project in development at Showtime. The 5 are executive producing the project, a sometimes cynical, raunchy, Farrelly-style comedy revolving around a guy who is betrayed by his wife after years of marriage and he finds himself at the crossroads of a midlife crisis. CAA-repped Pappas, Bernier and Barnett are writing, with Peter Farrelly attached to direct. Also exec producing are Jason Felts, Justin Berfield and Michael Forman of Virgin Produced along with Darryl Taja, who packaged the project and manages the writers. Additionally, Pappas and Bernier are writing a multi-camera comedy for ABC starring music star Romeo Santos and based on his life growing up in a traditional Dominican-American family. Pappas and Bernier are executive producing with Will Smith and James Lassiter of Overbrook Entertainment. Record executive/manager Steve Stoute will also produce in some capacity.

Could this be a “Californication” replacment? seeing as the comedy vet is starting to show its age in both ratings and creativity
Showtimes series sounds fishy.
if it’s as good as Unhitched, set your DVR’s! or you’ll miss it because it’ll be canceled in a heartbeat. sorry, but Unhitched was Unwatchable. (see how i did that?)
Exciting news. Was wondering when the Farrelly’s would come back to TV.
Sounds like a fire sale on producer credits. I count NINE so far.
And they’ll still need someone to actually… produce it.
Left you out AGAIN??
Ten years ago this would have been a coup… now, it’s just poo.
About time the Farrellys hit cable. Look forward to it!
So the wife betrays her husband? Careful, you’ll have the PC Feminist League on your back. Women are perfect and couldn’t POSSIBLY be the cause of problems, didn’t you get the memo?
Just read a feature spec from these guys last night. Very funny and not as broad as a Farrelly flick. Hopefully the show’s as good.
love pappas and bernier. good guys. funny f-ing feature writers. my fav spec read of all time was meet mr id from a few years ago (sony?). black list script i think.
I read that script. Funniest comedy I’ve ever read. Should’ve been made. A lot funnier than the dreck that comes out now…
Good luck boys!
