EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures is starting to get hot and heavy with Sex Tape, the Kate Angelo-scripted comedy that the studio acquired in June in a seven-figure spec deal. The script’s about a married couple who take a night off from their kids, decide to get adventurous and spice things up by making a private sex tape. When they wake up, the tape is gone and they go on a desperate search to find it.
I’m told that Nick Stoller is in talks to direct the film, and that the studio wants Jason Segel and Reese Witherspoon to play the couple. I’ve been hearing this for awhile, and now the offers are going out. The comedy will be produced by Escape Artists partners Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch, who came up with the idea. Stoller co-wrote The Muppets with Segel.

She said, “It’s not believable that I would stay married long enough to have several small children.”
“Yes, but until last month, it wasn’t believable that you would do a sex tape.”

don’t understand the success of Segal. I know his old assistant so I’ve met the guy. He’s quite unattractive, but his personality is worse. He is very needy and needs constant reassurance that he’s a star. he’s like a 6 foot three inch baby
Why can’t Reese do decent dramas? Always comedy and/or melodramatic fluff.
The last few years worth of work prove to me that Walk The Line was a lucky fluke and she won Joaquin’s oscar.
Take the paycheque Reese phone it in and promote it with all your southern spirit.Just dont read the reviews and keep telling yourself you’re one special snowflake.

“Legally Blonde” was one of the best of the last decade. And I’ve never seen her do a bad job, even if the concepts of the rest weren’t as good. This sounds right up her alley.
You’re right, but this idea feels a bit outside of Reese’s wheelhouse.
This is what happens if you win an Academy Award and marry a CAA agent. You end up performing for dictators. Reese run don’t walk from Jason Siegel and this douchey concept. Wasn’t this an episode of Modern Family? Or Raymond?

Reese! ! ! Oh how I LOVE her in ELECTION. And she was exquisite as June alongside Joaquin. She is extraordinary. Her personal relations? Who cares. I wish her continued success as I so enjoy her work.
I like Jason, but Reese? She is an old lady now (she looks old). I guess when you are married to an agent you can get whatever roles you want. She has worn out her welcome and believeability and box office success. Her next movie looks like a REAL stinker.
