Another year, another shameless plug for Twilight fan traffic. Below is a sneak peek behind the scenes of the Edward-Bella wedding in Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part I which releases November 18th. There’s endless promotion of the 2nd-to-last movie in this ridiculously lucrative vampires and werewolves franchise, including a concert tour and stars meet-and-greet. The soundtrack will be released on November 8th with the new single “It Will Rain” by Grammy Award-winning Bruno Mars. I personally am curious to see how badly director Bill Condon effed up this Part 1 filmed back-to-back with Part 2: the buzz is that this film is chaotic at best:
Meanwhile, Summit is kicking off a nationwide Red Carpet event and concert tour for the movie. Fans can see stars including Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, and Ashley Greene, as well as attend performances of several bands featured in the latest film. Bill Condon won’t mess up what was already a mess. KStew and crew have no business acting. Ever. The bad off Broadway schtick is painfully bad.
Really?? having said that, does it also mean kristen’s to be blame for the 1.8 billion box office gross of the 3 movies?
No, emotionally needy women around the world are to blame for that one.
Let’s face it, if this story had been written straight for the screen, it would have gone straight to the DVD bin at Wal-Mart. That’s assuming it would have ever been green-lit to start with, and that’s a BIG assumption. Meyer’s books are what ignitied this craze, so thank/blame her.
Honestly, you should thank twilight for creating jobs for thousands of people, including those vampire inspired tv shows,I’ve actually lost count after 5.
yet this movie will still make tons of cash.
Dawn… How old are you? 20 , 30 . Twilight is not for you. Kristen Stewart and crew are better than can you see. I’m 40 and you need to be wise for future generations.
Your 40 & typed ‘Than can you see’? Alright then.
Dear LOL!,
Re-read your posting and think twice about making fun of someone for typos.
Wow! so now we’re being psychoanalized? What’s with the hate about women going to a movie to be entertained? Next time learn to respect other peoples preference ok,we are not ruled by a dictator telling us what not to watch or say cause most of them are already dead.
You can’t stop Twilight fans. We are around the planet. We love kstew and crew .
This drivel will make an obscene amount of money no matter what, but so does the Transformers. Kristen Stewart is a decent actress but anyone would have trouble playing the emo, bland Bella Swan. She did fine in The Runaways…Pattinson was so so in Water for Elephants…I am not making any judgements until this crap is over with and I see them in more films. Lautner, well, he was so painfully bad in Abduction that I have a hard time giving him the benefit of the doubt. I feel bad for Pattinson though, some of his fans are a whole new level of crazy. Friend works at Fox, told me they received a massive amount of letters and a petition from his fans trying to ban Stewart from the premiere for some reason. Seriously, I sometimes fear for humanity.
More “Twilight”? Please let it end … !
Wait, what’s with the dirty sanchez mustache?
Bill Condon effed up this Part 1 filmed back-to-back with Part 2: the buzz is that this film is chaotic at best: . Due tell oh great powerful Nikki how you figure that. What did Bill do to you? Btw still waiting on that abduction autopsy report. Oh wait its made 65 million and counting. You have been off your rocker lately. What happen to the nikki who got the story right instead of always trying to be first and wrong?
A whole $65 million! Wow, way to break the box office.
Abduction’s made $65 mil worldwide and only $26 mil domestic on a $35 mil budget. Just to clarify.
If the budget is $35 million, it needs to gross over $70 million just to pay the production costs, not to mention P&A.
It’s hardly a money maker.
The good news: that’s not the trailer; that’s the entire Part I. The bright light is the audience moving to a better place.
History will look upon this period as the age of the disposable movie. Hundreds of millions of dollars invested to make and market films that have no longevity. The business is cyclical, and right now it feels like the early 1960s, when the studios were run by money grubbing money men who only knew how to green light Doris Day pictures. Time for a new wave of genuinely impassioned filmmakers who can give audiences what they really want. And for those who believe the grosses on these bubblegum pictures/remakes/toy adaptations are a sign that this is what audiences want; check the marketing budgets on these films. With that kind of money, you could probably convince the world Hitler was a decent guy. Look at the barrage of angry responses to the anonymous studio exec’s question “Where are the hardcore movie fans?” We’re right here – desperate for good movies.
Why the self-consciousness for posting a press release for the Twilight Saga? Rarely is an apologia deemed necessary for issuing publicity statements supporting franchises involving an endless string of Marvel comic book characters or Hasbro toy lines. No one can debate the ‘artistic’ merits of Transformers vs X-Men vs Twilight – or at least I hope they wouldn’t bother wasting their time. They are all ‘crowd-pleasers,’ popcorn entertainment – a tradition going to back to the dawn of the movie age. However, the ‘crowd’ the Twilight franchise pleases is the one most overlooked and deemed ‘not cool’ by those who both make and follow films. The Saga has been vilified for having a central female character having to choose between two men, and contains the usual fare of a wedding, honeymoon and childbirth. Care to regurgitate the plot of any rom com, churned out yearly? Isn’t this considered the norm by Hollywood for any female-based entertainment, including raunchy comedy? If anything, Twilight changed things up a little by adding the supernatural elements, including a transformation for the heroine. CGI is so-so, but remember, this is being made for a young female audience so who’s going to bother spending $$$ on state-of –the-art, right? So given it is no better or worse than most Hollywood fare deemed suitable for the female audience, I think what gets up most people’s noses is it made a lot of money, primarily due to that despised young, female audience. Get over it. If fanboys of all ages have their Marvel hero no. 275, 276 or Green whatever, and blown-up toys, I don’t see why fangirls aren’t entitled to a franchise or two, without the need to ‘justify’ it. The misogyny in this industry reaches everywhere.
“Why the self-consciousness for posting a press release for the Twilight Saga?”
Because Twilight is embarassing. That’s why.
Well there is a good thing too. Finally next summer it will all end and all those lautners, stewarts and pattinsons will eventually vanish from our eyes. Lautner’s career is officially dead after that fiasco with Abduction. No one will give even $50 million budget for his movie. Because obviously – even if Pattinson can’t sell a movie then how could that third wheel Jacob. I can’t believe how his team could create all that hype around him.
After future fiasco of that Snow White movie Kristen Stewart will vanish in those indie movies that no one watches. And Pattinson’s career is basically dead too. There is a reason why no one asks him to star in $100 millions blockbusters. Because he won’t sell them. He doesn’t have any real fans. All those so called fans will defend him to death on Internet but none of them supported his other movies and obviously they will not support him when Twilight will end.
And it’s a shame actually. Pattinson seems like a nice guy in interviews. And I liked him in Harry Potter. And people would except him even after that shameful Twilight legacy… IF HE COULD ACT. But movie after movie it showed that he has zero acting talent and looks like Robert Pattinson in every movie.
Not everyone can be DiCaprio or Timberlake (the music-Timberlake) or even Shia Labeauf. Usually they turned out like Orlando Bloom or Zac Efron.
LOL
RM was one of the most profitable films in 2010, WFE was the most popular romantic drama for last 5 years…
But haters gonna hate)))
Please go back to Hollywood Life…Shame Deadline is linked to that ridiculous website. Really, haters going to hate? Remember Me was not one of the most profitable movies in 2010 although it did fairly well because of a low budget and an international bo. What you said about WFE is just laughable. I do think there may be something there considering he will be in a Cronenberg film. You can like the guy but you do him no favors by making ridiculous statements.
Remember Me took 30th place among 350 films from 2010.
So technically it is one of more profitable movies of the year.
As for Water To Elephants… Pattinson got about 40% of audience, the same number as Witherspoon.
If Bill Condon managed to make anything coherent out of Meyer’s insane book, then I congratulate him. Vampires biting babies out of pregnant women? A werewolf falling instantly in lust/love with a baby but having to bide his time until the baby comes of age before he can sex with it (I’m not making this up)?
This is trash. I can’t take any Twilight fan seriously – if you want to see the depth of insanity of Twihards, go search YouTube for “Nutty Madam” and “Breaking Dawn trailer”.
Even TWILIGHT fans regard BD-the-book as godawful–and that’s saying a lot. And why Condon wanted to go to the mat with it is still a mystery…
or is Kristen Stewart WAY hotter with Brown eyes?
As a woman who is over 50 and a huge twilight fan (books and movies) I find these posts fascinating. I have never read movie or book articles and fan sites and felt the need to gutter snipe the way so many do with regard to Twilight. Books, films, art, etc. are totally subjective mediums. You may not understand why I like something and I may not understand why you like something but I would never diminish your opinion. My husband always said I had a very bright soul and I have come to understand his sentiment more over the years. A suggestion might be that if Twilight causes you such pain you might want to refrain from visiting these sites. I certainly don’t want to infringe on your right to speak your mind but wouldn’t you feel so much better and happier as a person if you just moved on to things that you like. Live and let live. BTW I can’t wait for BD Part 1.
Your husband is just trying to be nice and sugarcoat the fact that you are the type of woman who would be 50(!) and go for the drek.
Wow! Just because you guys don’t like it doesn’t mean you should be so rude. Don’t watch it!
Why not make the vampires surfers in the next movie? What about having them start a vampire advertising agency? Wait, one of the vampires is gay, but doesn’t want his vampire parents to know so he hires a hooker to pretend she’s his girlfriend while the parents visit!
How did you get a hold of the next season’s outline for “True Blood”?
Really people.. I love Twilight… I am a 30 year
Old mom and i cant get enough… If u have a
Problem with Twilight, the books, the actors or
actresses… seriously stay off here, Let the real
Twilight fans enjoy…
THIS is NOT a twihard fan site! This is a website about the movie business! So how about YOU stay off THIS site, hmmmmmm? Don’t come to this website and expect it to be a twilight circle jerk like your pathetic fan sites!
Kind of funny…I know people who despise Twilight and yet are planning to see this film in the theater because of the ridiculousness of this story….Seriously, the werewolf falls for her daughter and a baby gets chewed out of someone’s stomach.
I am 16 years old and I find the entire twilight saga in the tv spinoffs thoroughly entertaining
