ABC’s ‘Body Of Proof’ Gets Order For 3 More Episodes, ‘Pan Am’ Gets 1, ‘Man Up’ Done
ABC just announced the bulk of its midseason premieres. High-profile new dramas GCB (for. Good Christian Belles) and The River are getting Sunday and Tuesday berths, respectively, while Cougar Town is one of 3 midseason series that didn’t get a slot today. GCB, which has been groomed as a potential successor to departing Desperate Housewives, will launch behind the veteran dramedy in March. New horror drama The River will take over the Dancing with the Stars results show between the two cycles of the veteran reality series, following a short run of Celebrity Wife Swap in the hour. That represents a change of heart for ABC brass as Paul Lee said in May that the network would use comedies Cougar Town and Don’t Trust The B**** In Apt. 23 to bridge the 2 seasons of Dancing. Also on Tuesday, new cross-dressing comedy Work It will air behind Last Man Standing. Missing from ABC’s midseason schedule are freshmen Pan Am, replaced by GCB, and Man Up!, substituted with Work It. As I reported earlier this afternoon, ABC has offered an order of one more episode to Pan Am, which is yet to be received, as negotiations about the fate of the show continue. Meanwhile, Man Up! will be done after completing its 13-episode order. In addition to Cougar Town and Don’t Trust The B****, ABC has yet to schedule Shonda Rhimes’ new drama Scandal. Another new drama, The Missing starring Ashley Judd, will be facing an uphill battle in the Thursday 8 PM slot where ABC has not been able to launch a new series since Ugly Betty, with Charlie’s Angels as the most recent casualty. Here are ABC’s midseason premiere dates, including the return of Dancing With The Stars:

8:30-9:00 p.m. “Work It”

Paul Lee seems to be doing a good job at ABC, much better than Stephen McPherson did.
Where’s Apartment 23?
Work it got the spot and it’s gonna rock… haha kidding it’s gonna be a hit though because it’s so stupid and people love stupid stuff (American Idol, American Got Talent, Jersey Shore, DWTS, Two and Half Men, The Big Bang Theory)
Where’s Cougar Town?
WHERE IS COUGAR TOWN?!?!?!
Where’s Apartment 23???
What about ‘SCANDAL???????????’
Where is Scandal, the new Shonda Rhimes show?
So where the hell are they going to put Scandal, Cougar Town and Apartment 23?
So where is Scandal, Cougar Town & Apt 23??? Did they even address them at all?
The problem for Cougar Town at the moment seems to be that ABC’s Wednesday comedies are doing so strong, there doesn’t seem to be space for it there at the moment.
However, if the trend of downward spiral continues for Suburgatory, it may open that slot up for Cougar Town then.
It’s only down for one week and youre calling that a downward trend?
Ok, let me rephrase: potential downward trend?
Suburgatory will be back up next week
The River looks really great. It could be the next Lost or Twin Peaks for ABC.
Prediction — Work It! gets canceled after three weeks and is quickly replaced by Cougar Town. I can see it now.
Paul Lee seems to have really good taste with The River, Scandal, GCB, Once Upon a Time, Revenge. But, Work It looks awful. Just fucking terrible.
Werx 4 me! I luv Cougar Town!
Thank God, no Cougar Town.
Where is Apartment 23, best pilot I saw! The RIVER is unwatchable, it’s about an angry almond joy that attacks people!
The River is getting good reviews from critics.
Watch the River!
As expected with all 4 comedies doing ok on wednesdays, Cougar Town wasn’t going to make it that easily.
However there’s still hope because even this Wednesday (on Happy Endings) Cougar Town people are still showing up on other ABC shows. Specially that Private Practice cameo by Cox and Miller had to be ABC’s idea. The others cameos are more likely the other shows supporting the CT.
They’re still showing some sort of interest on the show, maybe after Work It is done it’ll take its place. I don’t think however that CT will make it to season 4.
Work It will be great Brian Keith Etheridge!!!
Brian?
The new show “Missing” is a complete ripoff of “Taken. Where Liam Neeson’s character was a male retired CIA op, Ashley Judd is a FEMALE retired CIA op. Where it was Liam’s daughter kidnapped, now it’s Ashley’s son. Where Liam was single, so is Ashley. And both kids are kidnapped while in Europe.
Yes, the show will have an uphill climb. Because we already saw it.
Yeah, its so ridiculous to adapt a feature success into television, you’re so right.
REALITY CHECK..
We haven’t heard that comment before…
Ideas are independently conceived all the time and it’s the variation not the story that makes a premise original. By the way, I don’t think Judd’s character is single.
Hearing apt 23 will be in a prime slot because it’s the highest testing show they have had in years so they want to be strategic. Can’t wait!
We want the b—- in apt 23!
Yes! Please! Keep Cougartown off the air!!
what the hell? NO Apt. 23? NO Man Up? NO Cougar Town? What are they freaking thinking over there?
P.S. Work It isn’t funny at all… is this Opposite Day or something?
Where’s Cougar Town?!?!?!
Wait.
It’s coming back. Am I happy? No, I’m angry and bummed. This is lousy news for our great, great crew to hear before the holidays. But it’s a financial decision, and I get it. Doesn’t mean I like it. Thank you to the fans for supporting us, thank you to any trolls on here who will charm me with their pissiness
Work it!!
Who cares about anything other than the incredible pair in that photo? Did they get Brooklyn Decker or Kate Upton for that shoot? Yowza.
Stay classy, people. Stay classy.
What a bummer, Cougartown is (was?) my favorite current sitcom.
