Increasing its audience for a third consecutive week, ABC’s The Chew hit series highs in total viewers and all key demos last week: total viewers (2.156 million), women 18-34 (179,000), women 18-49 (500,000) and women 25-54 (658,000). After a curiosity spike for its September 26 premiere, which drew 2.5 million viewers and 590,000 women 18-49, the ratings for The Chew, which replaced canceled soap All My Children, took a slide over the course of its premiere week. But the lifestyle series has been on an upswing lately. For now, fans of General Hospital shouldn’t worry much as the only surviving ABC daytime drama is comfortably ahead in the ratings, averaging 679,000 women 18-49 last week (though at a much higher production cost). That puts an enormous pressure on the upcoming weight-loss series The Revolution, which will replace One Life To Live in January. Because come September, something’s got to give to make room for Katie Couric’s new syndicated daytime talk show.

Rising quickly to the top for All Time Worst TV Show Titles.
Maybe the spinoff could be “The Cud”.
Over at Country Music TV their new talker is going with “The Chaw”.
There are too many food channel on t.v get the chew off and bring all my children back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just had the experience of turning on my TV at 1:58pm today, after the last person who used the TV left it on ABC’s channel 506. I therefore had the misfortune of being exposed for the last few minutes of The Chew. I finally found the remote to switch channels. Those two minutes I saw of that show could not possibly be representative of this daily show, for the simple fact that the show would have been cancelled the first week of airing.
Is it possible they are counting oltl veiwers as veiwing the chew.Several have complained it is running right at the time oltl should be on.Wouldn’t doubt abc trying any dirty tactic possible for ratings.
No they are not counting OLTL viewers. OLTL comes on right at 2:pm on the east coast, it comes on the same exact second that ANDERSON comes on over on channel 2 the NBC Afill right after DOOL.
It was and still is running over into OLTL time (well, except OLTL breathed its last today) in the central time zone. The Talk is on for a good 30 seconds and there is plenty of time to switch the TV over and The Spew is still running into the time OLTL should be running… And no ads in between, as there normally would be between shows…
And the FCC has been said to be looking into this. ABC is shady.
Now that OLTL is off the air, they are pushing some characters over to GH to swing viewers there and will probably run the Revulsions time into GH’s, too. Until GH goes off in September for Katie Couric’s show.
Would like to see 2 stronger women on the show. The guys are fine, but both women are fluff!!
This is one of the worst shows I have ever seen!! I’m not just saying it because it took the place of my favorite soap. The ones on stage act silly not entertaining. They are just there for an hour for themselves. Why do they even need an audience?
I like the cooking channels but this show grates on your nerves with their attempts at cutsie comments. I guess this suits the crowd that wanted it. I watch other networks. Put it on PBS. Worst show ever to be followed by an even worse one probably.
This is probably one of the worst shows ever conceived. Mario Batali should walk away while his reputation as a legendary Italian chef is still in tact. His culinary acumen is way beyond this garbage they call a cooking show.
What is wrong with ABC to replace a legend All My Children soap opera with one of the worst shows on TV. Where on earth are these people they say are watching this fiasco and what’s wrong with them? ABC might be saving money by cancelling All My Children, but they certainly lost their taste in programming.
One of the worst shows ever!!! Love Clinton Kelly he is fantastic but he can not hold the show together!!! Good move ABC.
Contrary to the above opinions, we really enjoy watching this. Both my husband and myself have many years in the food industry and we look forward to seeing this on most days. The 5 different personalities mesh well and there are some great recipes and tips in between the laughs. Come on – it’s not the Culinary Academy — it’s supposed to be entertainment. Lighten up, people!
the worst show around. all are boring and no one cares if your having sex in the kitchen. give me rachel ray. topic today

Everybody is not Facebook subscriber and, therefore, is not able to contact The Chew or enter contest! Not fair to this viewer who watches religiously since the first show!
Tired of talk shows and cooKing show love the soaps.
I have been watching The Chew pretty much since it started. It is about time we have added real life shows over soaps for a change. The Chew is an all around show, with health issues, diets, food savings, humor all being discussed for our benefit. I think it is a happy show and will continue to watch. Spice up your lives with 60 min of interesting ideas and recipes instead of the over dramatization on soaps.
I live in Dallas Tx. We get the show a day late. Sucks, especially for holidays. What good are Valintines meals on Feb. 15!!!
