EXCLUSIVE: Amber Heard has been chosen for the female lead opposite Dominic Cooper in Motor City, the Chad St. John-scripted revenge tale that Albert Hughes will direct for Joel Silver’s Dark Castle. Heard tested among several young actresses and got the job. Cooper (The Devil’s Double) plays a man released from prison who goes on a revenge mission, hunting down the people who framed him. Heard, who just starred opposite Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary, is repped by CAA.

I had the pleasure of briefly working with Amber. She was extraordinarily kind and stunning in person. I hope she finds success in the industry. It’s rare when the good guy (or girl) succeeds.
I’m baffled that Amber Heard keeps getting hired. Or maybe it’s just a life-sized cardboard cut out of her that keeps getting hired. It would be hard to tell the difference.
She’s a genuinely nice person with a sweet disposition and gets along well with cast, crew and directors. She’s not Helen Mirren, but she gets work because people like working with her, and she’s nice to look at. Compared to the recent stock of icy bitches like Megan Fox, January Jones and Olivia Wilde, she’s a veritable diamond in the rough.
