Bravo will strip its semiweekly interactive talk show Watch What Happens: Live five nights a week starting Jan. 8. Hosted by Bravo executive Andy Cohen, the sixth season of the show, which started off as blog that spawned a Web series before migrating to TV as a weekly series, will air live every Sunday through Thursday. It will be the only nightly late-night TV show to air live. As part of the transition, Cohen will keep his EVP title at the network but will shift executive responsibilities. Currently EVP of original programming and development, Cohen will now serve as EVP of development and talent, focusing on creating new original content. He will continue in his role as executive producer on Top Chef and the Real Housewives franchise. Meanwhile, longtime Bravo executive Jerry Leo has been upped to EVP, Program Strategy and Production. Leo, most recently SVP, Program Strategy and Acquisitions, will expand his duties to include the current Bravo slate of originals.

UGH. Bravo? It’s bad enough we had to put up with this swarmy schmuck during those reunion shows, now we have his vile show every weeknight?
We blame Cohen for the dominance of these vile reality fame whores in our pop culture landscape. He is like the annoying kid in school who tried to look cool by dropping names and talking about his dad’s famous friends. Vapid. Shallow. Disgusting.
I’m telling ya, I despised this guy’s show until I realized he was just doing the same bit de niro did in casino as Sam Rothstein and the whole thing took on this hilariously ironic air. Now it is the only thing on bravo I will bother to sit through with my wife.
I’ll lose all respect for him if I find out he is serious about this show. He had better not mean any of it or it loses all entertainment value.
Mazel.
Still waiting for Andy Cohen’s 15 minutes to be over. (Sigh.)
I like Andy Cohen. Why all the hate?
Isn’t there something more constructive for you rude people to do?
Just don’t watch his shows if you are so unhappy with him.
Where’s that woodchipper?
Love Andy. Love the show. Love the theme song. Andy Cohen’s got the 4-1-1!
I’ve never seen this show, but just in terms of stripping it Sun-Thu, I think it’s VERY VERY VERY smart (rather than a Mon-Fri pattern). I’ve been questioning for YEARS why the networks’ nightly talk shows don’t shift to a similar pattern (as well as local newscasts’ main anchor teams). People’s Monday-Thursday night routines are FAR more in step with Sunday night routines than they are with Friday night routines.
andy’s great. his celeb guests are always great. i like the format; it’s very laid-back. the games are a bit trite.
it’s funny that vh1 attempted to rollout a similar show with one of the basketball wives, but only one ep aired.

I could NOT be more excited about WWHL being 5 nights a week. He has better guests then his competition and you always see them in a different light. And, he is hilarious. I love it
